Be interesting to see the sales of the first remake releases, i still say there’s no market for such a project outside the few hardcore that played the series back when.

I guess it probably depends on how much they put into it. I could see it selling well but not necessarily in huge numbers. So if they just made a ‘lick of paint’ version that didn’t cost all that much, it could work. Those hardcore players will buy it if it’s not a total train wreck and I suspect quite a few people would get it to see what the fuss was about, if the price point was right.

I'd play more Silent hills. I played 2 only this year and its still fantastic. I didn't get all the way through though because the camera isn't great... But I get a remake will fix that.

Its probably going to be a PS5/PC deal, much like FF7R.

That won't work, Konami lost the final version of the code/graphics/sounds and SH2 would need to be recreated from scratch with a decent budget.
That's why the HD Collection turned out like that.

It's the MTX driven multiplayer mode that will really be the star

That's crazy. Seems like such a weird thing to lose source codes or whatever and yet it seems to happen quite a bit, or at least it did with some older games.

Sega did it with most of their back catalogue I believe, not just a few games but most of it.

It may be 2022 but still there's time for supposed leaked screens of the SH2 remake in predicably low potato quality

I'm hoping this at the very least lives up to the thread title. A Silent Hill 2 remake that does justice to the original would be amazing. They'd have to be bringing their A-game after the universally hated HD remakes, surely.

They're going to use Papyrus for the Silent Hill sign this time rather than Comic Sans.

If the rumours are true it seems like expectations are that there will be some sort of attempt at a 'true' Silent Hill sequel in line with the early titles but that the remake of 2 will be hard pressed to stick the landing
