I dunno how I feel about it but I've got the episode ready to watch later. It really depends on how they handle it... I think they're right to go in a different direction to the games as it makes sense overall for a TV show, but equally I don't think they can have him take his helmet off for long durations...

Something like how the Mandalorian handles it is a good template.

Yep, with Mando it's sparingly and done to try and build a bit of character empathy when it's needed. With Halo it's trickier as it's an established character so even under new lore the first audience likely to be watching is the one who's mind pictures are being shattered. It's also a moment where in either audiences minds if the moment goes wrong it can be a character killer. I don't know if the show is different much to the games at this point but eight entries in for me Master Chief pretty much works solely on the air of mystique around him so without more established layers I can imagine it winds the character.

Ok watched it... Hmm. There's a lot to like about it and I think as a whole the first episode is a good one. The action is decent and though there are a few wobbly doors and suspect CGI in some parts they later pieces on Reach had me rather impressed with some of the backdrops and general scale of it all.

I think the armour for all the spartans is on point and I also think the actor for MC does a decent job. I do miss the voice acting of Steve Downes but I understand why he wasn't an option given he's old and they want to reveal the face.

So just on that... it kinda worked, but I think they overplayed it. I don't think it should have happened in the first episode and equallyI don't think it should have been for such a long duration. But, it wasn't terrible and I think it made sense in the scene to build trust etc...

I'm certainly up for watching the rest of the season based on what I've seen this far and there's plenty of nods to the game which made me smile. I think if I was going to rate it then a 7/10 seems fair.

Yeah I saw they'd renewed for a second season already. Thought about it more overnight and whilst one episode is never enough to go on I think they've got the main characters nailed which is important and we've not yet seen cortana who is the same actor as they games... so really as long as they build on the story and pace it nicely it should be worth it.

One thing I'm eager to see is the Grunts. So far have only seen the Elites and the high council.

Picked up a Razer Kishi controller for some cloud based gaming and console streaming, I'm suitably impressed with how well the streaming tech works on an Iphone, had a few teething problems with getting it running as for some reason Chrome and Edge say they are unsupported browsers for the cloud service. The help guide for ios says to use one of these so not sure whats going on their. Safari which they say isn't supported was the only one that worked and gave you prompts to continue. Cloud based gaming gave me a good hour of forza 4 before it locked up and had to reconnect loosing me a race, so all in all pretty solid. Console streaming of games is handled via the app and was pretty much flawless so really happy with that, kind of wish their was a way to suppress the hdmi tv wake option when streaming, as it means you have to turn this option off or it wrestles the tv off whoever is using it.

I'm not super sure id recommend the Razer Kishi though it feels solid enough the analouge sticks are ace the dpad and face buttons are all really nice too but the triggers let it down they quite noisy, maybe they will settle down once they get worn in a bit but it kind of dose and doesn't feel like a £100 controller all at the same time the engineering and build quality feels great but the noisy triggers just spoil it ever so slightly. Id still recommend it at the 40-50 price it can be got for as it feels ace to be playing Forza Horizon on the go. i also chucked on some Lumines and got massively nostalgic for the psp, it had dodgy triggers on that thing too.

I didn't mind the Kishi but I did find it wobbled a bit too much to feel sturdy. I ended up selling mine and getting a GameSir X2 Type C which has much better sticks but the triggers aren't analog.

That's on android, I think on iOS the best controller is still easily the Backbone. Pricey but apparently worth it.

i got it cheap so am happy enough, it holds the iphone 13 really well, i have heard that some smaller phones like the SE feel a bit loose. I don't see why these controllers are so expensive the components and build seem very similar to a PS4 or Xbox but with a stretchy bit / surely the stretchy bit cant add another £50 on to the controller.

If anyone is doing the rewards this week there's a new game called A Memoir Blue which has easy achievements in it to get the 3 you need. Not a bad little game either...

Thanks for the tip will give it a look I'm, always on the hunt for easy achievements, on these weekly missions. FAR: Changing Tides is a pretty short game too and tends to throw achievements at you at regular intervals, this could also be a contender for easy achievements, it helps that its such a chill cool experience too.

lol i don't play stuff i dont want to or even log in every day for the 50pt achievement but if theirs a cool indie game that wlll help me get three easy achievements i will play it i don't ration the achievements either it probably isn't efficient, but the points are a nice bi-product of playing and dont really require you to adapt much.

I am running out of stuff i want to play though some of the games on game pass are shocking and feel like they belong on a mobile phone, I hated Kill it with fire and mentioned that before but "I am a fish" is both stupid and frustrating. your a gold fish rolling in a glass bowl but the bowl is completely sealed which makes no sense as round bowls don't work like that, The sloshing water inside the bowl makes it a horrible thing to roll too, think monkey ball but the monkeys drowning and the weight of water sloshing about buggers up your rolling and makes control sluggish and awkward.
