Would be cool if they dropped a release date for something off the radar.

It's such a small detail but... MS needs to stop naming Bethesda as though it's still anything other than an MS division.

I'm not sure they can do that. I think I read somewhere one of the terms of the merger were that it stay a separate entity... so they'll always be referred to as such.

So it's Xbox and Bethesda Game Studios...

If Activision has a similar thing then it's going to get messy and if they don't it'll seem daft given Bethesda is small fries next to the latest buyout.

Rumour of another Starfield delay till second half of 2023

According to the latest rumors, Bethesda's upcoming open world sci-fi RPG Starfield could be getting its release date pushed back.

Atomic heart getting a few impressions, most of the previews where of the opening couple of hours and then jumped forward to a more open world type area. Looks like its gonna be a mix of games like Bioshock and Fallout. The way the previews read it will be getting scores in the 6-8 range. Mediocre reviews won't hurt it on gamepass though and it will no doubt thrive on their like High on life did even with its negative reviews. Still really looking forward to it despite the less than glowing previews.

Atomic Heart is a bit of a throwback, and that’s not all a bad thing; mean-spirited corridor shooters with spectacular art direction used to be ubiquitous, but they aren’t anymore, nor is their particular brand of masochistic fun
The Soviet Union rises — and maybe falls — again in this old-school shooter, but will 2023 audiences warm to it?

I think Atomic Heart was always going to be high budget eurojank so I’m not surprised. Still looking forward to playing it.

10,000 staff being culled across Microsoft, this is 5% of its workforce globally, them doing this to protect bottom lines, when the company is still making massive profits is a really ****ty way of doing things but seems to be the way things are at the moment and how all these mega company's operate.

Hopefully this wont result in any more out and out studio closures among Microsoft's gaming division.

UPDATE 11.00pm UK: Following Microsoft's confirmation of plans to cut 10,000 jobs by Q3 this year, details have started…

Closures at Bethesda inbound. Jokes, but probably not. Got to make some wiggle room to justify that Activision price tag.

MS arent in a great place right now. The console launch has been the most flaccid launch of any console. Its flagship Halo Infinite drop the ball. 2022 saw no releases from the first party and the FTC are breathing down their neck, probably costing them a fortune in legal fees. Something had to give.

As for Bethesda, I'll predict 50% of their studios will do nothing and vanish. MS, unlike EA, doesn't directly kill studios, it just puts them in the freezer and drags them out when it wants a game from them 10 years later.

Microsoft is cutting 10,000 workers, almost 5% of its workforce, as it joins other tech companies in a scaling back of their pandemic-era expansions.

No specifics or studio closures but some Xbox and Bethesda staff will be let go as part of the layoffs
