Piranha Bytes, the Embracer-owned German studio behind the Gothic, Risen and ELEX series, has reportedly shut down.

How did they possibly resist the headline "Piranha Bytes the dust"?

          Kamiya is a bit of a ****, isn't he?

I thought so when I read the headline on Eurogamer but it was apparently something he said when pissed at the Okami end-of-production party and was clearly abashed/embarrassed at being reminded of it in the video. Was quite amusing. Then he clarified that - on the back of Bayonetta and Viewtiful Joe success - the Okami team was brought together specifically as a 'dream team' but he was disappointed that not everyone delivered or was into it, while naming the many dev stars on the team he respected the most. I've worked in ****ty teams and said so as well, and Kamiya's comments seem very mild by any standards (especially his own).

I've worked in similar situations (As I'm sure we all have) but also have had people who take all the credit for a project in the eyes of the public which allowed them to be on a platform to either praise or throw others under a bus. As part of that, it's their responsibility to guide the public narrative over what happened. And from watching that video as a non-Japanese speaker (So just reading the translation) he came across as the hero in his own movie, while allowing the rest of the dev team to now be a public pariah for his subjective issues with the project.

I bet that if you talk to the Dev team (Everyone from Lead to Junior level) they'll have their own issues with the project and Kamiya but their voices won't be heard, as the fans and public won't care unless it's through Kamiya. As such, I find it ****ty when 1 guy tells the public the team were weak and only names a few people he admired. True, he may be telling the truth, but it's his version of the truth and I can put money on the OG members of the dev team watching that interview who worked their arses off, contributed amazing things and weren't name checked by Kamiya and are now thinking thanks a bunch you bald ****!

Anyway, shame he came across so badly in that as I used to admire him more. We're all human I guess.

There’s a new Raiden game coming soon. But it’s a twin stick shooter.

MOSS has announced twin-stick shoot ’em up game Raiden NOVA for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Switch. It will launch on October 31 in Japan for 4,800 yen. A limited quantity special editi…

I’m not sure what to make of this. More Raiden is good but I’m not that keen on twin stick shooters unless they’re single screen like Smash TV or Xeno Crisis.

This might actually qualify for news that is so small that only ants can read it, but I ran into this as it's something I'm interested.

Alaskan Road Truckers currently displaying cheaper on Xbox store compared to PSN. The publisher has confirmed that PS5 version is incorrectly priced.

People have been buying it at the wrong price. Be interested if those people get some credit back.

                        That looks pretty good.

                          Sweet!
Driver is being "actively worked on"!

To temper my excitement, it's not specified anywhere that it's a proper game, rather than another mobile game or FTP cash-cow (qashqai?), plus the live-action series is binned.

However, this is positive news, generally.

Maybe a way to make use of those who worked on the driving in Watch Dogs now that series has been canned... they'd need to up their game though

Driver: San Francisco came out in 2011, so I'd be surprised if many of those staff are still around, let alone from the 99 original.

SF is such a great game, it'd be brilliant to have a sequel to it.
