I'm totally there for anyone willing to try the Punch Out formula. Had a lot of fun with Treasure's Hajime no Ippo game, also Wade Huxton's Counter Punch on the GBA too. Definitely going to keep an eye on Thunder Ray!

Crimson Desert looks like they've nicked ideas from this and that all over the shop - and not in a respectful, subtle homage kind of way - more of a "I wonder how successful Nintendo's attempts to patent TotK game mechanics was" kind of way.

I wish I could enjoy the Mudrunner games, I just want to try and navigate the terrain but all the technical detail and then getting stuck and resetting etc killed it for me back when I tried it

Macross Shooting Insight is set to launch on January 25, 2024 worldwide (excluding China). Nothing more has been shared about the game.

Weird but it's kind of gaming related. Spotted these yesterday infinite gashapon where you can relive the fun of collecting keshigomu figures in digital form. Works as a pedometer to build up coins then you turn the handle at the back to release a capsule. I LOVE weird stuff like this plus it's SD Gundam so i'm weak against it.

Annoyingly both listings on amazon japan are unavailable so it's either not gone live yet or more likely totally sold out for now but i'll be trying my hardest to get hold of a pair.

The real game of the show that nobody is talking about...

i've put alot of time in snowrunner, single and co-op, one of the biggest hits of lastgen for me and plays even better on a current gen. a proper challenging game without being unfair, rewards reading lay of the land, scouting ahead to see if shortcuts are.... shortcuts and not just a death trap only the most advanced tricked out trucks and get through. The only thing i really need more of in a runner game is persistence, you get some of it in rebuilding roads and bridges but i would have loved (for example) that hitting all those drainage machines would have lowered the water levels around the first map... stuff like that.

Does anyone really like the Turok games? Except for those with nostalgia?

I always saw them as one of those games that was fiiiiine, back when "console FPS" was basically Goldeneye N64 and a load of other games that would've been mid-tier at best on PC.

I enjoyed playing them for the first time about 10 years ago. Part 2 has some great guns!

Indeed. A tough game, but an enjoyably fascinating one. A real chill out, tactical game. I found it difficult to get going, but I keep coming back.
