Mechwartior 5 Clans has been announced. This will ve a stand-alone, story-driven game following 5 Smoke Jaguar Mechwarrior during the 3050 invasion.
Coming to PC, PS, and X box in 2024.

Does seem a weird choice. I get what they were going for, but upon seeing the thumbnail, I expected a remake of Mechwarrior 2. That might bite them in the arse.

I haven't played any of the MW5 expansions, but if they keep the same mission structure of the original (along other things, like navpoints, lancemate/starmate AI and management), this will be a coat of new paint over a disappointing single player experience.
Combat in MW5 and MWO is great, but mission structure is nowhere near MW2 or MW4, and even MW3 is still better.
Not to mention that once again it seems we'll be touring the Inner Sphere aboard a Broadsword-class Dropship, which is like spitting in the face of BT lore.

Yeah I'm standing by my perspective that there is approx zero market for this type of thing once you clear out curiosity buys from new 15 Pro owners.

At least with this one they do throw in the Mac version, which makes it a little more palatable if you own a beefy enough Mac.

With Village you just get the iPhone version and you still have to buy the Mac one separately if you want that too.
