As if popularity was ever the bar of if something's right, or even good

But fine, not in the thread. Might take it to the irks.

            Oh dear
The game is mid at best, and its real-world harms are impossible to ignore.

I'm going to stop reading if you deploy "mid" without a hint of irony.

Is that a review or an opinion piece?!

It's a shame as it's clearly written by someone affected by Rowling's outbursts. Passing it as a review wasn't the best approach though. Would have been much better to refuse to review and post a dedicated opinion piece instead.

Is it really antisemetic? Wired just put themselves on the list of bad games journalism. Laughable that this is their review.

Well if the 12 is for language, my brother is playing the game and already seen two students use fruity terms so...

Even if it does focus around the connection to JKR, some people see that as intrinsic to the game and can't separate them. I also don't think it's 'wrong' to review it from that perspective. Since day 1 she's become ludicrously wealthy by making herself interchangeable with the brand. The see-saw tilts both ways.

I saw this earlier and just thought, someone doesn’t want to work for Wired anymore, awful hack job.

Have you read it? It isn't a skewed review, it's a "this is bad because J.K. Rowling is bad" proclamation.

I haven't played it but I don't believe Hogwarts Legacy is such a terrible video game it merits a 1 out of 10 by any reasonably objective review criteria.

Wired should have refrained from 'reviewing' it and, if they feel this strongly about it, explain their readership why they chose not to.
