Sega considered a Dreamcast or Saturn Mini but it would have been "a difficult and expensive process" | Eurogamer.net
Dreamcast Mini and Saturn Mini were considered but post-pandemic both are too expensive to bring to market

Dreamcast mini would just a be a disappointment game selection wise anyway, they’d want to milk that for at least 4 different iterations.

I am aware I never actually play any of the mini consoles and that they just eat up space, but the promise of this seems to be getting deeper cuts licensed and/or ported, and I'm very up for that. Already from that first batch of titles, a UK model with Shining Force CD is very appealing.

I think everyone was hoping for a DC mini ? I know I would have loved it over this new MD/MCD

Send like a weird choice to release that, what games it supposed to work with for them to release a weird stick like that?

Wierd, I would think it has the same support as the XE-1AP which is only a few titles....but from the list does support Night Striker, Afterburner and Starblade so there is some sense.

North American release confirmed for this October.

                    European release surely inevitable?

Why are American box designs so dark and uninspiring? Even the Genesis font looks turd. Or at least I think so.

                        More compact, more advanced!

That was painful, like a cheap Chinese advert for a non description emu console.

Needs a UK release just so a version exists with English language full support and a name that doesn't suck

Really crossing fingers that a UK version does happen, as the current setup for the Genesis version (buy from Amazon JP, but only with a US shipping address) is going to be a pain to get around. The 'Genesis' name too, naturally.

Shining Force CD now becomes a very interesting inclusion! Next batch of 10 games is due to be announced tomorrow.
