Nope it's like the other ones japan got the dlc is included on the cart just like splatoon 2 did with that one and botw did with that expansion pass stuff. All of it is included in a physical version that's what makes them special. That's why the western version they bundled extra tat in the box because they damn well know it's a scummy thing to just slap a code in a box when they are giving another region the full thing on a cart. When they pull crap like this i'm so dammn glad that most releases are multilingual & region free.

Shame i can't get a clearer pic to see if the last wave is on the cart as well, it wouldn't surprise me at all if the didn't put that last part on as well

I think the line of text under the price says that Wave 6 will be a later download.

I see! I didn't realise there was precedent.

I didn't notice before but as DeathAdder points out, the last line says that to play Wave 6 content a later free download is required (which would suggest that 1-5 will be on the cart).

Lol typical Nintendo would it kill them to just line up the release with the final dlc drop. Hmm not sure it’s worth it if it’s not all on the cart kind of defeats the point.

My guess is that the final DLC wave doesn't fit on a standard cart and they themselves don't want to pay for producing a higher capacity cart.

Thankyou!Sometimes feel I'm the only one who has looked at the Kart Tour tracks DLC and think it looks like garbage. Clearly tarted up mobile game assets for a game that semi-played-itself.

They totally don't belong alongside MK8D's track assets, which, even though people might be divided about the game, I think most can agree it's literally one of the best-looking videogames ever, on any platform.

The trouble with the Tours tracks is that not enough effort went into translating them to console. The Original Tours tracks are actually pretty good in the DLC, it's the overly abundant city tracks that are the issue with their repetitive natures as well as simplified visuals and layouts. But even if they were stripped out the Original Tours tracks and other additions make the cost worthwhile.

I didn't mind the Direct, Mario RPG looks to be a well done remake and I was happy to Another Code be given another shot. Princess Peach looks to be simpler than I'd hoped but still okay. Luigi's Mansion 2 HD feels almost too recent to rebuy but everything together pretty much maps out a timeline of regular releases between now and next summer which are broadly of enough interest level for me to make the coming months much more interesting than the Switch has seen in a long while. The line up also makes its very clear Switch 2 is a Fall 2024 proposition at the earliest.

It's interesting that we're moving more into SNES-GBA-GC-Wii-DS-3DS era remakes now and away from Wii U ports. Possibly a good indicator for what games will see a second lease of life on Switch 2.

I enjoyed Thousand Year Door but its reveal was probably a dud for me, I don't feel it really requires a replay.

Wish Nintendo would totally remake the Mario & luigi RPG games although seeing as some had 2 screens it might be tricky but even wonderful 101 got around that. Shame though as I doubt they’ll ever do it as alpha dream are no longer a dev

Mortal Kombat 1's graphics on Nintendo's hybrid console have been widely panned, with many wondering how the developer can ask for $70 for this version.

The bugs need to be fixed asap but the hyperbole on the graphics is eye watering

I was watching a comparison that included the Steam Deck and what becomes clear is that some work was put into optimising the Switch version for better performance. It’s not as powerful as the other consoles. Of course the graphics aren’t going to be exactly the same. It looks like it probably plays just fine and, ultimately, maybe better than it does on Steam Deck even though, as soft as the image looks, it probably looks better in stills on the Deck.

Personally, I still wouldn't be paying $70 for MK1 on Switch, but it's been pretty crystal-clear for the last several years that a mobile chipset/Nvidia Shield derivative wasn't going to be on the same level as Sony and/or MS flagships for AAA-grade 3rd-party titles so I don't know what people were expecting at this point in the Switch lifespan.

People think the game should be cheaper because it looks worse than the PS5/Xbox versions? I’d argue that it’s earned the $70 tag for the amount of work put in to get it running decently on such old hardware.

It’s not even on PS4/XBO, ffs.

I quite like that shot of Johnny Cage holding his sunglasses. He looks like he’s seen some horrors in his time

Players don't care about the requirements of dev, though. Nor should they, honestly.

If they bought the Switch and expect PS5 graphics, that’s on them and, yes, I do think they need some level of awareness of what it takes to get it playable on their system of choice.

Sony get absolutely eviscerated for their 1st party 60-70 titles that have absolute huge amounts of polish and effort (but still get labelled a rip off), but some s**t house MK game at 70 gets a pass? Jesus.
