If you want it wireless and more readily available than an original Wavebird, there are 3rd party alternatives like Retro Fighters' BattleGC or the Falcon.

I never like the look of the Retrofighters pads. I don't like how they change the design. They would have been much derided back in the day.
I use a Wavebird but the rubber on the sticks is sticky and old. I think egparadigm's idea to use this brand new GC pad with an adapter is a terrific one!

Today's the day I'll find out if I got picked in the JP Switch 2 lottery.
I know Nintendo said there'll be many losers, but I'm hoping all the online huffing and puffing and accusations of racism over the multi-language model mean there's a better chance of securing one
The results will be announced today "in the afternoon", and Nintendo's JP store is down for maintenance right now...

Does anyone else find it curious how much emphasis Nintendo are putting on the videochat features in the marketing for the Switch 2, yet the console has no integrated camera and even the external camera is an optional accessory rather than a pack-in?
It seems quite unlikely that the scenario portrayed in the ads, with four or more players connected via videochat while playing, will be a reality for many players. With the exception of Kinect, which was really an input device first and foremost, add-on cameras haven't traditionally been huge sellers for consoles.
The idea itself isn't a bad one at all, but I find it odd that they half-stepped it so much. I wonder if privacy/child safety concerns played a role, because really integrating a webcam above the screen couldn't add more than a few bucks to the bill of materials.
