It's a fairly nice one but now that the existence of a full revision is known it feels a given to wait on any new controller purchase now

Whats going on in that comparison Forza's track looks very muddy dull and washed out, theirs a massive amount of blur going on in the background compared to GT7 too???

It's called Sony mystical mist. It can be applied when a healthy amount of cash changes hands.

8 might be more realistic but I prefer the look of 7. This has happened before with RT games and it's probably just my preference.

Digital Foundry mentions there's a bug that washes out the blacks switching back from some menus.

Sounds like there's a few minor issues spoiling the overall look but when it's the right time of day etc... it looks pretty special.

I've got so much on the backlog at the moment I'm not even planning to look at this for a few weeks so hoping by that time they'll patch it all.

I'm in the same boat, watched digital foundry waffle on about the new game's technical achievements, but it doesn't doesn't mean anything when using my own eyes, 7 looks a lot more appealing.

Driving games though, surely it's diminishing returns at this point in terms of graphics?

Formula One, in VR is on a whole other level. So close to what I imagine the real thing must be. Hghly recommended if you have the means (I have a seat, wheel and pedals too which no doubt helps).

Turn 10 have said there's a patch coming for that bug and IGN have taken down all their comparison videos as they have to redo them.

I agree we're at a point now where every top tier racing game looks great. There's only so much you can do past where we are graphically but I do appreciate they've totally reworked the controls / handling in this one. A lot of reviewers saying it's the best "feeling" game of the series on a controller which of course you can only test out first hand.

I will download this at launch:

• Completely fail to win any races.

• Come off on every corner.

• Drive too fast.

• Use the other cars in the pack to brake.

• Drive around the track backwards.

• Quickly come to the realization that i still hate realistic racers.

• Spend the rest of the evening wondering why we don't have a new Burnout RidgeRacer or Outrun

• Find a forum to complain about how we only got 2 Rallisport challenge games.
