How close do you sit to the tv screen?

I tend to sit just about 3 ft away from 28" screen. I can sit further away if need be but not for any game with a first person view, it just feels wrong and I can't engage with the game very well for some reason.

I blame PC games me!

I 'NEED' to use lead extensions on all my systems/pads, so that'll give you all a fare idea of how far I sit from my 43inch TV.
