Which RPG is better, between FFX and Xenosaga?

I'm an avid JRPG fan, but I'm late for the party as far as this generation goes (I've been more busy with other games these last few years), but in my collection which I've had for a long time but never got around to, I have: Suikoden 3, Xenosaga, FFX Int, FFX-2, Kingdom Hearts.

I was deciding between Xenosaga and FFX to play first... Which one is better? I really loved Xenogears, and I play an RPG not for the gameplay but for the 'experience', so I have no problem with long and frequent cinematics, in fact I enjoy them. I've heard XS's ratio of gameplay to story is like 1:4 (which is like a wet dream for me, since I loved XG, and it seems XS will give me a metaphoric orgasm). What's the ratio for FFX? Which game overall had the better story, the more memorable one?

I'm also a big fan of the past FF's, so I really wanna play KH to see Cloud and Aeris again, but would I be better off playing FFX before KH? It's a real dilemma as I have only got time for one game, and it won't be for a long while before I can play the next...

So which should it be? I'm thinking the shorter one might be better first. I do try and complete a game 100% however, so I don't know which I should play first. Also, I tend to play the game with crappier graphics first so that it doesn't take away from the next game. Between FFX and XS, which would that be?

Xenosaga by miles. FFX, doesn't have a battle system to speak off not to mention its completly daft.

Xenosaga, but only just. FFX is NOT by any means daft, it's just not as good as Xenosaga.

overall experience. i dont want to ruin it, but its got the most stupidest story for a ff game ever.

Well I'll disagree on that one. Of the two FFX provides the best story but that's because Xenosaga is the proloque of a story. As to completing the games 100 %, FF wil take you about 130 hours plus (if your quick), Xenosaga took me about 75 hours but I spent way too much time in the Casino. If you wan't to play the game with the worst graphics first; start with Suikoden III.

Personally I think FFX is the overall better game (just) but I had a bit more fun playing Xenosaga. Both are better (imo) than Suikoden or KH though.

I can really recommend FFX - it?s a great experience. (it has a sort of 'interactive-movie' feeling to it)
However, the random battles can get somewhat boring, but there is enough motivation to make you want to play on to see what happens next.
One very big plus of this game, in my opinion, is that there is almost no frustration and can be played very relaxed (also due to the turn-based battle system - which I like very much by the way).
The Blitzball game is also a great addition. (can be compared to handball)
FFX has very good graphics. I can?t say if it?s better than Xenosaga since I haven?t played that game, but from the screenshots I would say FFX has better graphics. (especially the spells have wonderful special effects)
I consider FFX to be the best FF up to this point. (just my opinion)
(out of the eleven tittles I have played: FFVII, FFVIII, FFIX, FFX, FFX-2)

The most interesting part of Kingdom Hearts for me is that you can meet several different FF and Disney characters - all in one game.
The battle system I don?t like very much though, as well as the game worlds. (I?m not vey far into the game though)
Also, the game is very childish (naturally), although I have to say I really like Donald in the game.

FFX-2 is the same as FFX, however a lot more kitschy and hectic.
The many different mini-games can be a chore as well. (and they appear quite frequent)
The battle system is probably a lot more interesting than in FFX, but I really miss the option to switch characters in out of the battle. (the dress-system makes up for that to some degree)
It?s not as good as FFX in my view, but still good. (you should definitely play FFX first)

Does Tidus play a big role in KH? Do I need to have played FFX first in order to not miss anything?

FFX is better. It may have big boarders but at least they released it here.

I do import and was really interested in getting xenosaga but if namco cant be arsed with europe i cant be arsed with them - they not be getting a penny off me over xenosaga (and i-ninja).

to go back on topic a bit. I really enjoyed FFX until near the end where the difficaulty level suddenly skyrocketed, the battles became impossible and you couldnt backtrack to level up some more. The style, battle system, characters and story were all lovely until it all went vertical. shame.

I prefer grandia to any of the FF games and in terms of not having a broken design and having some play testing before release grandia 2 > FFX... or even Tomb Raider AOD > FFX... at least tomb raider was bad all the way through.

I'd say play Suikoden 3 first (certainly over FF X anyway)

                          But I would say that!

Is impaling yourself with a rusty blunt instrument an option at all?

oh yeah. i remember now, they were the kids that you played with at the beginning of the game. no, they arn't important to the game whatsoever.
