FFS DOOM 3 IS OUT LESS THAN 3 WEEKS!!!!!!!11!!!!

OK so who else has taken the Friday off? If you haven't book it now its August 13th LIKE IN 2 weeks 6 freakin days TIME FFS!!!!

I cannot wait for this game. I've been playing the E3 movie on the edge disc and if thats how good the xbox version is then the PC version is going to be THE CANINES TESICULARS!

Fired up DOOM and DOOM2 and going to spend the next few weeks trying to finish them both!

I'm seriously thinking about building a monster PC for this game and this is coming from someone who's still got a sealed copy of F-Zero GX that's been sitting around since mid december. Doom 3 looks THAT good

I am sure there was a thing on euro gamer that said that the game would mostly likely be shipped around the 6th of August in the UK?

So then, just to reiterate: Doom 3 is due out in the US on August 5th, although some retailers could conceivably stock it from midnight on August 3rd, and the UK "will probably get it first, on or about August 6th," with everywhere else "probably" on Friday, August 13th with only a couple of exceptions.

There has been no more official release dates published after those, apart from all the online retailers saying 13th August. Am I just getting my hopes up?

Not sure about the day off though - my gaming room catches too much sun this time of year and Doom 3 is going to be one of those games that needs to be played in the dark and with the volume cranked right up.

The release date thing is confusing me too. All the retailers are saying the 13th for the UK release but like it says in that Eurogamer article id are certain it'll be out for the 6th

Most are assuming its going to be out a week after the US release. GAME, have their release date still down as Sept, and i havent heard nothing through work either.

So i think, quite possibly, on the off chance, people are getting their hopes up

Gameplay / Play both have it listed for 13th - while they're not fool proof by any means they do tend to over estimate their dates unless they're absolutely sure.

Amazon have it listed for the 13th too - but they're about as accurate with release dates as a blind archer with vertigo. You just need to look at their Ico sequel release date to see that

Please forgive my ignorance here as i'm not into PC gaming but...

All i've read (which admittedly isn't much) about Doom 3 concerns the graphics and how many frames per sec you are going to achieve with whatever the latest graphics card is at the time etc.

Does the game have anything exciting to look forward to in the gameplay department? Links to information would be appreciated.

go to www.fileshack.com theres plenty of making of, interview and video clips for you to check out. all of them basically show off what the game is about, i watched the history of doom 3 this morning. it was preety good.

Yoshimoto, Doom III is a long overdue nine year sequel in a little series called Doom, on the PC.

You know, those games which more or less kickstarted the popularity of online multiplayer gaming, and featured two seriously frantic single player modes too?

After a long overdue absence, I don't blame people for getting excited. After three long years of hype, the damn thing is virtually around the corner.

I said it in another topic, but Doom is as synonymous with PC gaming in my opinion as Mario and Zelda are with Nintendo gaming. As for the hype and focus on Doom III... Id have always been leaders in the field of PC gaming technology so this was always going to play a big part. From the review and impressions I've read, it seems this technology has been put to good use to create the world's first truly scary survival horror FPS. (If you discount System Shock that is).
