Ah so there's the revolution in gameplay that was so clearly missing from the original game

Finally finished the game yesterday, and I really did enjoy it. At first I found the game an impossible mixture of being terrifying and yet boring at the same time. But as the game went on it seemed to get less scary but more enjoyable - no doubt something to do with the changes of scenery that occur.

Graphically the game is incredible. Hell is awesomely designed, as are some of the beasties that crop up later in the game.

Thought the cyberdemon was a bit of a wimp though.

I just finished it too btw, I found the final boss pretty tough using the basic weapons, took me about four hours and five retries to get the blighter down.
Cool if a little bit short the end sequence.

Graphics: Excellent, although lack the very newest fx libraries.

Sound: Decent, although musically quite empty.

Playability: Easy point and click action with no learning curve.

Lastability: I found the game lacking in the lastability department. Maybe I'm meant to download mods and patches these days to give lastability perhaps, I don't know... for a game of two thousand and four years after Jesus was nailed on a cross I was expecting something with a just that extra touch more intelligence invested.

Overall: Enjoyable experience in my opinion, though when it's over theres not enough reasons to come back and do it again.

I might give it another go at some point, if only to laugh at the cacodemons again - not quite as hilarious as they used to be, but still funny.

Has anyone tried the Reznor sound pack btw?

The Reznor sound pack's a must have. Pretty much every effect is an improvement.
