I guess it's firmware. was about 230 meg in size. I don't really know all these technical terms. All I know is that the guy in the store said it would be really easy to transfer stuff over and the only stuff I have is the music and films...

well i've now updated the firmware but it's now showing a usb symbol and the itunes logo on my screen and actually refusing to find the ipod when I connect it to my pc. Gah, why does everything have to be so ****ing complicated when you're using anything by apple

Visited another site and apparently this is a well known problem. Have found out how to put the device into restore mode and am starting all over again.

Welcome to the world of Apple! It may look sparkly and handle nicely, but when it breaks things get ugly!

            Any joy with restore mode?

If you think using them is hard then try programming for them. I'm pulling my hair out here trying to get my next iPhone App up and running!

Hey guys, does anyone know how you recover deleted items from an ipod touch if you've already bought said deleted item?

In my case it's bejewelled 2, bought it from the apps store, but for some reason it's now missing from the icons layout. I can go back into the apps store to redownload it assumedly, but I don't want to get charged for it again, am I likely to?

Yeah, you will get charged again if you download it again. Yeah, it sucks.

                  And that's not illegal? Interesting....

Crap isn't it. You're supposed to regularly backup your iTunes Library apparently.

This was an app tho, I didn't realise it could be backed up - which folder would I find it in on my pc?

Thats interesting as I recently downloaded all my games because I had lost everything and upon putting in my email address and password it told me that the download was free because I already paid for it. This was yesterday.

                          Sorry i've been busy.

Yes I did restore, and yes it took a long time but now everything is perfect.

Oh that's awesome! For years the iTunes Store has completely ignored one of the great boons of buying downloadable content, its ability to be instantly replaced at any time. I wonder if that extends to other content they sell, it ought to.

Doubt anyone's interested, but I solved the problem with my ipod reverting the repeat setting to off whenever it was synced with the pc - I just set it to manual sync, disconnected, went into the ipod's settings and set repeat to all, then connected it back to the pc and changed sync back to automatic. All the music remained intact and now repeat is set to all, just like I wanted.

I have a bad feeling it'll probably revert back next time I connect it, in which case I won't have solved anything

Does that mean I'm safe to re-download Bejewelled 2? It's just that usually as soon as I enter my password to confirm that I want it, it'll download straight away without actually asking me whether I still want to proceed or not.

Not that I'm too concerned about £1.79, I just rather wouldn't have it happen on something valued at a fiver or so say.

Edit: I can confirm that previously bought content is now tied to your account, very well done apple, no lawbreaking here
