      Guys,

Anyone got any recommendations for a good FM transmitter for the Ipod Classic?

Im after one that ideally charges the player as well, oh and my motor is VW golf thats got the cigarette lighter under the front controls so i need something ideally that plugs in and then has cable rather than a pole.

      THanks

It worked fine on Vista until I updated. That seems a bit back to front - older version work fine on newer operating system, new version breaks.

it kind of pissed me off to be honest. they dont support vista properly, let alone the 64bit version, i had to reinstall old xp to use my new ipod . Apple need to get their act together on this.

I run iTunes on Vista, and have no problems. Latest version works fine for me too I'm afraid.

What version of Vista are you using and is it 32 or 64bit?

Take a look at the Kensington Liquid FM transmitters at the online Apple store. They come in different flavours to suit your budget and seem to have received pretty good reviews. The new Griffin iTrip Auto is meant to be good too but I've yet to see the updated model in the UK but their online store does ship here.

Quick question - what firmware does iPod Touch come with out of the box?

I'm only asking out of interest as I may well get one come my birthday, and it'd be good (if possible) to take advantage of the obvious jailbreak benefits.

I bought mine locally in tesco in the the end. It had 1.1.1 on it (handy). My sister bought one in Belfast in Argos, which had 1.1.2. So i'd say 1.1.2 really... Depends on the shop/store if they're selling a lot....

Also, the new 1.1.3 firmware (iPhone and iPod to i guess?) is suppose to be on the way. With leaked pics of it around...

Speaking of jailbraking the touch. Anyone have any helpful links so i can find out how to do it?

Yep, here's the iPodtouchmaster's youTube page...

Also, here's the ipod touch fans forum. Go to Jailbreak forum for detailed instructions. You won't really need them with the above. I was watching the ipodtouchmaster's video, while jailbreaking mine....

Thanks for your help wonderboy. Managed to get it done, all i have put on it so far is the nes and gba emulators. Is there anything else thats more important that i should be doing with it any recommended apps? a friend of mine said you can get internet on the go or something. sounds like a load of bollocks to me. :P

Internet on the go, does he mean Safari ? Like did you install those emulators manually...? Also, did you install, mail, weather, maps and notes (iPhone apps). using iPodtouchmaster's video, this one (great guide)...

Once you Jailbroke it though. There should be installer on your home screen. Connect your touch to your Wifi. Open installer, let it refresh (load in) then click install option at the bottom of the screen. There's load of apps to install. If you want to uninstall them later, just open installer (while connected to wifi). Then click uninstall at the bottom too.... There's even an update option there, for later updates of apps....

                              Happy new year...!

the emulators were in the installer thing like you just said. all i had to do was create a new folder on my ipod using cuteftp, to put my roms on.
Although, its far from being any good. Ninja Cop is impossible to control and slows down a fair bit.
i installed all the iphone apps too.
