I still don't get it, I call this moment in time flat pannelers = blunt

All I see is, 360 looks nice but everything else looks awful ( = my flat panel experience thus far)

I'm not getting it............does the only UK HD supportive device thus far warrant purchase? hmmmm.

I'm not having a go, i want to be proved otherwise as i'm in the market.....i'm looking at the trend and remain 100% unconvinced.

Seems like an investment for the future..........so why the mad rush to buy apparently crap tvs with a view to 2 years down track.

I rekkon the same people buying budget flat panels equal those who buy jeans with holes in.....I hope those who spend big money are having a good time and look good running their 16bits, if not....i question the faith even more, is the future inclusive or exclusive?
Technology always improves. Why do we buy consoles at launch, when we know the better games are likely to be those that come in the future?

As it is, I use my LCD for 360 (obviously) but also hooked up to my PC for watching DVDs. The quality you get on both inputs in beyond anything else I've seen before. Admmitedly SD TV isn't as good on these, but I didn't buy my LCD to watch SD content (I don't know about others).

Was just reading up on the forthcoming XRGB3.

      http://www.micomsoft.co.jp/XRGB-3_Preview.pdf

Now if I'm reading that correctly, does that say it accepts 480p (525p), 720p (750p) and 1080i (1125i) via Component/D-Term. at last?
The main critisism of the XRGB2 was the lack of support for Progressive input, so I hope this is true.
Having just read the PDF it appears so. Also appears that you can only input 1080i via the D4 input.
Does anyone know if the scarts on these accept our RGB signals ie RGB and composite synch?

It'll most likely be a 21-pin Japanese RGB port on the front and not RGB SCART, just like the XRGB2+

The image does say '750p', though admittedly I cannot read Japanese so I don't know what the text says.

Hopefully one of the forum members who speaks japanese would be kind enough to translate parts of it for us.

I have just bought a 360 at last, I was thinking of getting a large 26-32 inch LCD HD tv for it but it all seems SO complicated.

Is there a general concensus of opinion on these forum about which is the best to go for, I was thinking the samsungs they use in the 360 display models.

              Money wise ?800-?1200 ish?

Any ideas would be very greatfully recieved.
I have read some of the posts but there are SO many, any pointers gratefully accepted.

"750p" is what the Japanese call 720p. I've read that in the signal that we call "720p" there are actually 750 lines, with the other 30 not holding image data.

                  To lobo soulman.
I like my LG26LX2R http://uk.lge.com/prodmodeldetail.do...26LX2R&model=0# , it's great with an Xbox 360 but having nothing to compare it against does make my opinion rather unqualified.

                    Oh yeah, same with 1125i.
That's not the significant part though - the XRGB2 would only accept you standard 480i/576i. If this device does support 480p/720p/1080i as ther PDF implies, then we can make use of the native Prog. Scan modes in games (no need for the device to deinterlace), coupled with the upscaling abilty of this device for superior quality.

I'd reccomend the Toshiba 32WLT58 if you want a 32" LCD, it's got two HDMI inputs which you'll soon appreciate in a year or so. Shop around and you'll find it for around ?1000.

If you want something bigger you can get the Samsung SP46L6HX DLP for under ?1200 from Comet/Curry's these days. I have one and it's amazing.

Thanks for your help guys, I used to know whats what but tech has moved on and I have been ignoring it.
Whilst the 360 does look nice on my CRT I want it in all its glory.

Does it have VGA or DVI-I, and come in 26" variety?

Parents are considering getting a HDTV this summer, might be selling them mine and treating myself to a new one.

(on that note, do true 1080p screens exist yet, is 32" or below?)

It has a VGA input, but I've only seen the 32" and the 37" in the flesh so I can't say for sure. Stunning TV though, certainly gives you alot of inputs for the money (2 HDMI,1 VGA, 1 Component and 3 SCART [2 RGB]) and it even comes with built in Freeview as a nice bonus.

Sounds awesome. My 26" is actually too big for the distance I sit from it though, let alone a 32".

Probably should keep my LG until the true 1080p sets appear.

1080p sets, is there anything that's even gonna output 1080p aside from a pc for a good few years? i was under the impression that hddvd/blu ray were gonna be 720p and thusly there's not actual point in getting a set that'll handle it as it'll be a complete waste...

                                ??
