Well, my brother wants to buy a Bravia, totally destroying my plot of selling him the LG and getting one Bravia myself.

He's looking at the V2000 (1600 euros) and the S2030 (1550 euros). It was my understanding that the V series have more features like the colour enhancement and backlight control, so we're confused about the same price. Perhaps the S2030 price reflects the fact that it's the new kid on the block?

    Thanks

EH? Have I missed something? Since when was SOTC 480p?

SoTC does look pretty sweet on that setup - am I likely to get that standard on a cheaper Bravia? I still need a TV for under ?700

No. SotC has had a 480p option since release back in 2005.

Just found this on amazon, I'd go for the 32" option, but its over my budget. Can anyone recommend?

Over the last 20 pages of this thread there're great comments about it, look for Shakey_Jake33 and Concept posts.

Cant believe I missed that 480p option, I cant belive I put up with crappy interlace all that time!

Does anyone have any impressions of the Sony KDL40V2000U? My mate might sell me his for around ?900 which is in very good condition and still has 4 years warranty on it. I havent seen it tweaked cos he likes some funny settings and wont let me change them!

I think I'll go with the Sony 32V2000 (as others on this board) which I've mentioned before. Would like to go with the 32V2500 but slightly better contrast and an extra HDMI-input isn't worth the difference (some hundred pounds) I think. I'll manage with one HDMI-input.

                          My eyes!!

I've just read every page of this thread, took a few hours but it was worth it. Along with magazine reviews I've decided to ditch the samsung, and instead opt for the Toshiba 32WLT66, only ?600 on amazon now that the 68 series is out.

My one worry, which hopefully an owner can clarrify for me on here, is that I hear that the xbox360 output will have borders along the sides as the resolutions don't match up?!? Am I right in assuming this is only a problem with the VGA input and that the TV will have no problems with the 360 if i hook it up via the HD component cables which came with the '360?

I was hoping to use the VGA input to act as a monitor and spool some videos across from the PC, but my main concern is quality of proper HD inputs such as the '360, the '360 HD-DVD drive and the HDMI stuff when it comes out over here.

Any words of wisdom from existing owners more than welcome, then I'll buy one tonight

Thanks guys for the thread, it's been a real eye opener.

Yeah it is just the VGA that is screwed, everything else is ok.

You can get the 68 for 879 on empire direct.....

I solved my noisey VGA cable problem, bought an official VGA lead, that has reduced it significantly
