      Panasonic PT-AX100 projector

someone here using a Panasonic PT-AX100 projector who would like to share some first hand experience with me? it's supposed to accept and process 1080p/24hz video (from a PS3 for instance) and is currently on top of my buying list.

I'm gonna get an Xbox360 soon and I've been looking for a HDTV to go with it.

        Would anybody recommend this TV?

Yeah, it's basically the same TV I have but with an extra HDMI. I love it myself.

360 connected to VGA on that telly (set to 1360x768) looks real nice. It accepts native res over VGA too, if you ever feel like connecting a PC to it.

What size does it come apart from 50inch. I would like to buy one end of 2008. Can't buy it yet as I got to clear my bills and debts and then replace my wardrobe and redecorate my bedroom first.
well 15months from now i'm sure there will be many better TV's for less than the pio so maybe best off waiting till you have the money before deciding what you want?

don't wait - gaming life is just too short to wait go for a much cheaper FullHD Panasonic. apart from the lack of 1080p@24 support it performs nearly as good as the Pioneer.

Hey chaps, buying a new TV for gaming (360 via Component, HDMI PS3, everything else via RGB Scart),looking to spend about 500 or so on a 32inch LCD.

Thinking of the above, any thoughts?
                  Cheers

Apparently the new PZ70 range does support 1080p24 over HDMI according to some posts over at AVforums.

they initially claimed it but took it back after they came to learn the result would not please critical cineasts. i've read a recent TH-50PZ700E review confirming this. too bad.

i've grown tired of waiting for an affordable 1080p@24 Plasma and have just purchased a Panasonic PT-AX100E projector (featuring 1080p@24 support) for not even half the price of the 50" Plasma.

Do you mean that it's one of the many devices that claims 1080p/24 support but actually transcodes this to 1080p/60 for display?

                          I bet it is.

1080p 24, the biggest con in AV history?

How many sets actually offer true 24hz?

i dont know of such devices. i understand that 1080p@24 support refers to video output only and that players, such as the PS3, need support authentication from the display device before actually outputting at 24Hz.

however, the new Panasonic Plasmas still lack this authentication signal thus resulting in 1080p@60 video display, even though the player is set to 24Hz or True Cinema mode, respectively.

I've just ordered the 42 model as the wife said the current 32" wasn't big enough

Still means I get a samsung 32" for my consoles now instead of my 20" HD viewsonic

I'm probably not the first to ask this, but can you really tell that much of a difference with this 24hz thing?

I bought the Sony KDL-40W2000 last month and it doesn't have it - I still love the TV even though I haven't even got any HD devices conected to it yet.
