    Cheers. Lyris.

    I'd better get a move on as I hear the G20 is being discontinued....

      It already has been. Panasonic will be unveiling their 2011 plans for Europe at their convention on the 15th. I'd imagine stores will want to get rid of any of the current stock before the shiny new ones are announced. I'm curious to see what they actually add though... the last few Panasonics I've reviewed have started to feature worse input lag. If that's in all the 2011 models I'm not going to be pleased.

      If the 2011 Panasonics are all laggy, snatching a G20 now would be a very good move.

        Panasonic G20 40" £479 @ Costco (5 Year warranty)

        Bargain of the year TV wise.

        Panasonic 2011 line up

          The price doesn't seem to be nationwide and differs from store to store a fair bit

            I'm in the throws of buying a house at the mo so can't fork out for a new T.V but I'm gutted I'm going to miss out on that deal.

              It's here. Now all I need to do is unbox this heavy bastard and spend a bit of time setting it up to my tastes...

                Did you get a G20?

                I bought one just before Christmas and I still can't settle on my picture settings :-S. Would be interested to see how you get on with it.

                        THX looks a bit green on my TV. Can I fix this with the settings/white balance somehow?

                        Cheers

                          Nope. X range is gone. Maybe they didn't sell too well what with the fantastic price of the S 10/20 range. I only wish I could fit 42" into my current TV location.

                            * an ambient light rejecting screen coating which means the picture won't wash out as much if it gets hit by stray light
                            * slightly newer Plasma panel with deeper cell structure. Meaning you get less "glowing" around white areas in dark scenes.
                            * a satellite tuner
                            * USB hard drive recording
                            * DNLA network access
                            * YouTube
                            * per-input settings
                            * and all the calibration controls that we fought for, if you consider going down that route in the future.

                            If you know for a fact you don't need any of this stuff (eg you only want to play games on it, and you only want to do so in a dark-ish room with no stray light), get the S. Otherwise, the G is brilliant value considering what you get.
                            Sooo.. getting one of these at a cheapo price is proving difficult. Can you recommend something in the 400-500 quid range with the same feature set?

                              Yeah, I got a G20. I've settled on the settings provided by Lyris for now though I may tinker with the other settings in the menu later.

                                Just got back from the Panasonic convention 2011! The new displays this year have small improvements on last years. I raised input lag concerns with their tech guys and they are, as usual for Panasonic, very receptive of feedback.

                                Yes, but to know exactly how much excess Green there is in the image you'd need to measure with a colorimeter, or call in a calibrator to use theirs (www.illuminant.tv etc).
