Is there a tv that gives you full control over image size? May be a little nuts but I would love to see a 480i/p image run in the centre of the screen with all around borders to give a true image for last gen games. With a fairly large tv, could look ok.

Buy a Panasonic PWD5/6/7/8/9 etc.
They are all 480p displays and about as close as you will get.
However the old consoles are not 480, p or i.
They had the right frequencies for TVs to lock on and show an image, but they were never true 480.
SNES is one example, it could and did output the following..
Progressive: 256 x 224, 512 x 224, 256 x 239, 512 x239.
Interlaced: 512 x 448, 512 x 478.

Bumpage.
Getting on with redecorating the "spare bedroom" into my "man den" and am looking for a TV to put in the room for gaming & Blu-ray enjoyment.
At heart I'm a Sony bitch but I have come across this for ?349 which I think is a pretty good deal seeing as Panasonic list it at ?589!
Panasonic Viera 42" TX-P42X50B
Failing that. Here's the Sony I'm considering:
Sony KDL 42EX410
Any others I should consider at about ?400? What about 3D for that price?
Cheers.Last edited by teddymeow; 17-05-2012, 20:31.

However, did you not think that OLED might be worth considering for that sort of dosh?

[QUOTE=Shozuki;1956801]Yeah mate I did, but the issue was the OLED screens are only 55" and I wanted 65" Besides I'm really happy with the screen, its an absolute marvel!!

only 55", is that all? lol
I would gladly sacrafice 10" of screen for the quality an OLED would bring over a plasma/projector....if i could afford it...Last edited by dvdx2; 18-05-2012, 22:36.
