It is the non100hz version of the ones that we all have , they perform really well all round, but they have particularly good scaling capabilities and work really well with SD stuff. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

          Hi,

im looking for a crt tv for my retro gaming, i went into currys today and i saw one of those slim fit 20in tvs. like this one

but it had smoother edges design like all the latest samsung lcds, any idea what model this was, it was £150

i was wondering will this be good for old consoles. like saturn,megadrive,n64,snes, ect via rgb and scart.

          thanks

Quick question: are plasma TVs safe for gaming these days?

In other words, is burn in (awful) or image retention (still bad) an issue, or has it been sorted out?

I think they're still prone to burning & **** like that.

I thought that type of thing was pretty much sorted now, although plasmas still have other issues which make them less suitable for gaming than LCDs, primarily colour smearing and low panel resolution. (many fail to even reach 720p)

                        Hello all,

I'm new to this lcd stuff, I'm looking at the following SAMSUNG LE26R88BD LCD Television purely for xbox 360 play. Any feedback?

It'll do the job, just make sure you use VGA lead on the Samsungs, they don't do component any justice.

Hmm... I keep considering going with VGA. I'm using the standard 360 Comp. on my 40 inch Loewe at the moment and sometimes I feel like the picture looks a little 'rough'.

Back on the old Sony Wega CRT I felt like RGB Scart gave a much more accurate picture in terms of colour and brightness. Is it worth spending money on a VGA lead?

Alot of people here use VGA as it normally gives you the sharpest picture. Mainly because there will be no iffy picture processing going on from the TV and also you don't lose 5% of the resolution to overscan.
It is certainly worth a go, just make sure your TV support a widescreen resolution via VGA.

Thanks, sounds like it's worth while.

Surely if your TV does 720p then that counts as a widescreen resoultion over VGA. Or am I completely wrong?
