It's not the connection that matters too much. Rather the display. 100hz? prog scan?
You need to find a gun that matches the display. Presume you have a CRT? Otherwise if you have a plasma you need a special gun with sensors you mount on the display.

          Hmmmz, I could have sworn I posted PS2 ^^;
In any case, it's about the PS2. The problem I see is that with a component connection I can't connect the composite cinch, so thus not be able to make use of the light gun then, not?

          To add some more info, I have a JVC AV29FT1 (4:3, 50Hz) and a JVC HV32P40B (16:9, 75Hz, component in) tv.
I've got an official G-con2 gun and the Gun Speedlink 100hrz Desert Eagle, which both don't work on the 16:9 unfortunately. The Desert Eagle doesn't do anything then, the Gcon2 makes the firing noise, but the pin point won't appear.
If anyone can help there that would be great, but I think it's a lost cause, though I recall reading somewhere there's a trick with the Gcon2 to work with 100Hz tv's...?

But I want to get a component for progressive scan, so I want to get clear if I'll have to switch cables then if I want to use a light gun.

Hmmmz, just saw this one on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.nl/PS2-XBOX-HDTV-COM...ayphotohosting
            Gcon support

What do you guys think of that cable?
Price is cheap, shipping outrageous lol

Next to Play-Asia's 'supports all tv's' light gun (http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-...n-70-16s7.html)
I also found another one: http://www.erealgames.com/
This second gun doesn't support 2 players, though they claim to release a player 2 model in March 2006.

I wonder if the Play-Asia gun DOES support 2 players (and of course all screens). I have e-mailed them on the matter, but perhaps anyone here knows something

Oh, I also found the website of the manufacturer of the EMS TopGun: http://www.hkems.com/

Hmmm, whats the difference between the 1st and 2nd ones then if the second is double the price? It looks crap and the 1st looks like it has a proper gun finish and is cheaper. So if it works with HDTV's then I may just buy that. Got 3 guns sitting here that cant be used anymore.

It also says "Vibration" function, is it just that or is it proper recoil as I love my gun that recoils, its super excellent!

I'm also very interested in knowing the answer to this.

Ah, just found this on their Q&A:

                    Q) Could I use two LCD TopGun to play at the same time ?

                    A) Yes, you can use two LCD TopGun at the same time in Xbox?, PS2? and PC. Please note that when you use two LCD TopGun at the same time on the same screen, you just need to setup one set of LED stands. Otherwise it would fail to work.

Watched the PS2 vid - what's with the weird way in which the guy turns the gun upside down while aiming? He barely moves position but turns it all over the shop.. seems a bit suspect.

Not a fan of laser pointers either, where's the challenge.

I thought he was showing that the gun works however you hold it. Couldn't think of any other reason to do it.
Hopefully you could turn the pointer off - if not, bluetac it over? The pointer is necessary for the calibration.

                              Manual there.
Yeah, you can turn the pointer off.
