    1. Find a mature sounding, pleasantly-toned female who has excellent manipulative skill (fortunately, most fall into this catagory).

    2. Get her to ring the support line and explain that she has returned from a holiday in America where she unwittingly purchased an Xbox 360 for her *insert terminal illness* suffering son.

    3. Standby with pen and paper to write down the RMA details from the sobbing helpdesk worker.

    4. Wait by letterbox for replacement powersupply to arrive.

Have a backup excuse for ringing if another female answers the call. They can smell fear.

Will Microsoft make you return the faulty one? or would they just send out a new one?

Just got off the phone with MS support regarding buying another PSU. 119 Euros is what they are asking for! Ouch! Stepdown ahoy!

Bang.
In general that is true. The one exception I can think of is the SNES and Super Famicom. One of them has an AC - AC psu and the other an AC - DC psu, so you can't interchange them.

Is anyone using a JPN machine with this stepdown, if so, how are you finding it?

Don't know about that one, but I've been using this one (the ?39.99 model) for the past 8 months with zero problems. Luckily when I got my Japanese 360 Maplins were doing a half price sale on that stepdown so I only had to pay ?19.99 for it. But even if I had paid full price, I'd have still been very happy with it.

Just to confirm Neo Stuey's comments in the shipping and arrivals thread (http://ntsc-uk.domino.org/showpost.p...postcount=3072)

This morning I have been on the phone with Microsoft Support who not only registered my machine for me but also confirmed the 78 euro price (including shipping) for the uk power supply.

Unfortunately I couldn't get the guy I spoke to, to include the ac cord but it's easier than what I do currently.

Hopefully should get mine by the end of next week

What are the advantages of registering your machine?
I may register my pair, it's interesting that they registered a JPN machine for you
I wonder if they would do the extended warranty for a JPN machine too? ?45 for 2 extra years is pretty good considering the 360 failure rate

I haven't got a clue why he wanted to do that but I thought what the hell let him earn his money

Surprisingly he did not offer me an extended warranty on the JPN machine, in fact I may phone them back and ask what the warranty length is, if I have any currently on the machine and how much it will cost, lol.

Also he suggested that I buy a step down transformer instead of the power pack as it would be cheaper
