Meh, personally I'd love to see a real minimalist retro set up. An early 80's TV, with wooden effect round the screen and an NES in front of it, on the floor, with some Del-boy like brown and yellow curtains in the background. Much more interesting than a dozen plasma TVs.

Anyone got a set up like that?

Nice one there reeky my boy. The living room/games room looks very peaceful, a perfect chill out zone.

Yes nice and clean I like. But it would look a HELL of a lot better without that Half Life 2 - Raising the Bar book. So I think you should get rid of that. And...In the interests of fairness I'd be more than willing to give it a good home.

              noooo

I had no idea it was out of print and all that - if you can get your hands on it - it's fully recommended

I've got the floorstanding versions of those bookshelf speakers. What are they like? I've always been well pleased with mine.

Reektan, same 5.1 unit as me, it really does sound phenomenal

Where did you get that unit from mate, looks nice and would fit our lounge nicely too...

                  Cheers.

Been looking for a nice setup for a long time and heard great things about the Yamaha - I even programmed the input names to PS3 / Xbox 360 and Wii earlier

is what you're after .. shelves are fully adjustable too .. top isnt ultra heavy so wouldnt trust anything other than a flatscreen on it. Real nice unit though.

I got hold of these off ebay about 3 years ago after hearing them at a friends house - great little speakers with really nice bass. Not got these hooked up to anything amazing just going into a cambridge audio a2 > pc for my music / browsing malarkey

That Argos unit seems to have taken over as the AV standard from what used to be the job of that ridiculously popular Ikea unit.

I almost bought the Ikea set but went for the Argos one in the end because the height of the Ikea piece was ridiculously low and I don't want to be staring down at the screen when using it.

must admit - I think Argos should give me a commission - I think 3 mates have the same unit now haha

Been lurking around here for a long time, thought i'd finally post something.
Quite amazed by some of the set ups on here, inspired me to finally tidy up my room a bit.

My setup is pretty standard, does what it needs to do (lots of wires everywhere though).

consoles in the pic: SNES PAL/NTSC/SFC, MegaDrive II, Sega Saturn, AtariST520, ps1, ps2.
consoles you probably cant see: xbox, gamecube, sfc jr, n64, dreamcast.

                            Some boxes on shelves:

Here's my room at Uni. 32" LG HDTV, Shuttle PC, PS3 and an XBOX 360 Elite. I also have Sky Digital TV. Not bad for a "poor" student, eh? :P

Here's the computer desk next to my TV bench, with an LG 20" TFT monitor.

All my Sega stuff you've seen in the past is kept at my parent's house, safe.

Oh, and the best poster ever, it's huge.

First 5.1 setup i've owned as this is the first time i've had the room - it may not be the most expensive setup but it's totally blown me away.
I have the same speakers and sub and a similar amp to you - first time surround buyer as well (had access to other people's setups though). I'm very very very pleased given the amount I paid.
