themanwithapc - the racks are ?30 half price in store. No idea if it's country wide. I got them in Chichester.
Note that the shelves sit on tabs rather than being part of the structure, so to ensure rigidity, you need to glue the backboard in (the instructions says this is optional, but it's not!). It comes with glue. On the plus side, you can put the tabs at any height you want, so some shelves DVD and some CD. Or even taller if you want.

There's still loads in the Chichester homebase. It's called "multimedia cabinet oak effect with frosted glass door holds 174 cds or 100dvds".

They arent amazing quality, but for the price it's perfect and the colour is slightly unusual. Darker than the usual stuff, which is what made me choose them.

Trevor - the beanbags are from a shop in Chi called Sands. It's a flooring shop that sells sofas and beanbags too.... er.. yeah. Anyway. I told you about them on New Year's Eve. They were the horrifically expensive ones. You had a heartattack and blanked it from your memory when I told you the price.

Charles, do you happen to know how to apply for an audition for the BTEC national in modern music at Chi College?

I haven't tried it with an MX1000, but I hear laser has issues tracking on surfaces like this.

I had some tracking issues with my old MX1000 too, but this hasn't skipped at all, even without the pad. (my "mighty mouse" was unusable on the desk)

Dammit! I love everything about the mouse and keyboard, except for this little issue. Too late to return as well

Trust! I think the wall paper in my frontroom is holding the entire house up!

Hmmm, I assume you mean they're a bit flimsy once they're constructed? That's one of the main reasons I hate buying stuff from places like homebase. I had a desk a while ago that I bought from there, and it swayed from side to side once constructed. Definitely not as 'solid' as Ikea or even Argos stuff.

                    Thanks anyway.

Looks cool and compact mate - quick question about your keyboard.

Looks like the dell ones we get with new PC's at work but grey rather than black - where'dya get it?

                      Thanks

Once they are full of stuff and the backboard is glued in they are solid as. They come with the usual thing to hold them to the wall to stop them falling on your dog/child/foot, but I just stuff bits of carboard under the front at either side until it supports itself by leaning back against the wall (to over come the carpet problem).

I think that Argos and Homebase are part of the same company, and sell the same stuff.

                          As an example -
                          Homebase and Argos

But surely not everything they sell is the same?

Furniture wise, pretty much everything you can get at Homebase, you can get at Argos as well, although Argos seems to offer slighty more.

The furniture pages on each site are very, very similar - Argos and Homebase

By the way, I don't know this 'cause I am some kind of furniture website comparison freak or anything, I have just been looking for a new bed (The Naples in case you wondered )
