Should turn up tomorrow so will see how it is. Saw in the shop and it looked pretty solid but until I have everything setup it's hard to tell!

I've tried really hard to make a 3 console setup look wife friendly, and spent time clearing the cables.

That's far too tidy for my liking*. If the back of your unit doesn't look like an explosion in a telephone exchange then you aren't harc0re



*I wish mine was like that. Last time I tried to sort it all out it took me two hours and looked just as messy as when I started

Well..this is my setup as it stands.

I want to replace the audio early next year for a better setup, in particular get rid of that Sub (on the left) which is effing massive. Thinking about upgrading to a bigger screen too, though that will have to wait a while (current screen is a 32" LG from about two years ago).

I could show the rest of the 'collection' but it really isn't worth it

Nah piece of cake. Pleased it fits so well, the alcove has exactly 0cm spare. I measured up before ordering obviously, but didn't factor in the walls of my place being so wonky.

I look forward to rebuying a 360 every few months due to overheating too

New addition this morning - 40" samsung - upgraded from a 32" LG mainly because I wasn't happy with the black levels for movies etc - i've not even been through all the settings posted on avforums and the like i've just turned dynamic off and it looks insane. Best black levels i've seen on any panel - even better than a mates plasma and my crt downstairs .. crazy

I'm ordering a 40" LCD for the play/games room, and I am torn between the Sony KDL-40W2000 (?900) or the Samsung LE40M87BD (?890).

I figure it would be nice with 1080p, and the Pio plasma takes care of TV and SD stuff in the lounge.

Is this the M87?

Can you take some pictures of games/films? (Only HD stuff, as the screen will not be used for tv)

Yo dude its the M86 which is exactly the same but no silver strip down the bottom. Same boat as me - this is only used for my gaming and HD movies so not interested in the TV part - can take a couple photos in a bit - just going through all the settings getting it perfect. I cant recommend it enough so far - the glossy panel just oozes clarity.

What is it with all these shiny screens? Laptops are the same too, they look cool in the shop but then you get them home and realise that you can see our own reflection the entire time and they get fingerprintey by themselves.

I think it just makes things even more vibrant - i dont have a light source behind me and the window doesn't get direct light so its perfect for me. Looks a bajillion times better than my old matte effect panel.

i've completed my setup with the purchase of a projector and screen. it's a Panasonic PT-AX100E and works great so far. it's super quiet, has excellent brightness and next to no visible pixels.

HDTV screen:
16:9 format, black frame
size: 2.4 x 1.35 metre
1.0 gain

projector specs:
3 x 0,7" LCD TFT Panel
HDTV 720p (1080p/24 compatible)
2000 ANSI Lumen
6000:1 contrast
HDMI input
25 dB

i can only highly recommend this device to everyone slightly interested in home cinema and/or very big screen gaming

a successor, the PT-AX200, is already out and has got a special game mode too. if it's worth the extra money i don't know as the basic specs seem to be identical to the PT-AX100.
