Nope, no new developments that I know of. 3.03 is still the highest that can be downgraded.

For those of you stuck with a newer PSP firmware, they've found a new exploit which works on all versions, 1.0-3.50, using a Lumines UMD that you should have anyway (if not, shame on you). Nothing more than running code but that's the majority of the work and a downgrader should be done in days.

Coupled with the news that 3.50 OE is in development (PS3 remote play over the Internet!) this week could be up there for last Christmas' triple whammy of TA-082 downgrade, 3.02 OE-B, and Popstation

During last six hours, Lumines sales have grown 2600 percent on Amazon.com. I wonder why...

The joke will most probably be on the buyer once they realise that their versions are unlikely to be the correct ones

Apparently it's all versions of Lumines because this exploit was never found and corrected, and there was never a patched version released like what happened with GTA.

Who said the PSP didn't have a killer app? It's the same on the US and Japanese Amazon rankings.

I am on 3.11 and I have Japanese Lumines. I might give this a go later on after reading what to do about 300 times. My girlfriends nephew updated my firmware past the previous point of no return by accident, so I thought my PS1 emulation days were over..

                Anyone tried this yet?

I tried the exploit (there's no downgrader yet) and it worked fine. There's nothing that can really go wrong with the current proof of concept so feel free to try it. Just back up your Lumines save before copying over the exploited one so that you don't overwrite yours.

So what do you do once you've run it?

Do you then need to find an app which will install 1.5 or something? Then install the custom 3.4OE-A etc?

The fact that custom code is executable through this exploit means a downgrader (and thus, the ability to install custom firmware) is mere days away. This is always the process when they find a PSP exploit.

Ability to run custom code = ability to run unsigned apps = ability to run downgrader. Just gotta wait for the pros to modify the downgraders to work through this exploit. Days at most.

Tried it with my Japanese Lumines, and it doesnt work.

However, I'd imagine its because they haven't made any exploited code for the Japanese version yet. Its got two folders in the zip, which are presumably US and EU versions, which is prob the reason.

                            Yeah, they mentioned this:
Currently we don't have a version for the Japanese version, but we're working on it, as soon as we get hold of a Japanese UMD.
So there's absolutely no reason why it shouldn't work, they just haven't released the save for the Japanese version.

                              This is good news

Better get a copy before they go up in value!

The downgrader is out - it's for 3.50 firmware.

As always, read the instructions and warnings before applying.
