LocationFree TV is a pretty big feature that's been removed, though I suppose most people don't make use of it. (it's something I'd love to be able to use, but have no need for)

You're stuck for now because the highest one that can be downgraded is 3.03. The best advice would be to not upgrade any further and hope that someone hacks that one before too long, because you're not likely to see any retail games that require 3.30 for a while yet.

OK, you've got me on that one. You can still use Devhook to emulate the official firmware (up to 3.11 I believe) and use LocationFree that way, though.

I've been following the PSP homebrew scene for a while, but hadn't upgraded my machine as there were a number of games that I wanted to play that needed more than 1.50 firmware, and the whole Devhook thing sounded like a pain. But with the release of 3.30 OE-A, I thought I'd take a look as my PSP was still on the 3.03 official firmware

I only wish I'd done it earlier! SNES emulation is great, SCUMMVM is awesome and I spent most of last night ripping my old PSOne games into the PSP format, which is just brilliant - Parappa the Rapper and Um Jammer Lammy on the go - brilliant

I did have to go and buy myself a 4GB memory stick too though.

Same advise I've given friends before, stop updating the official firmware just because its there, unless you need it for a game/feature, don't do it. They'll find a workaround for degrading it in time.

Evolution-One: I've got a Jap PSP which was v1.0 and could run the homebrew great, but you are so much better off with a custom firmware.

3.40 OE-A is out, thus proving that Dark Alex is a god and that Sony should admit his superiority.

Yep, works fine here too. That's awesome that you can share PS1 saves between the PSP version and your actual PS1 disc now, assuming it works with Popstationed games.

Ah, so that's why you are asked to update your saved game!

How do you mean? I can play the PS1 game on my PS3 and use my PSP save?

It means that if you had a PS1 game on disc and ripped to your PSP, you could share the same save between your PSP and the original when you play it on the PS3. That's the theory, anyway. I don't have a PS3 to test it with and I'm not sure if it's limited to official releases from the PSN.

I noticed the other night that you can have folders for your videos. In the
video folder, on your PSP. So it's like the music folder now... handy..

Though, One thing that's a downer for me is if you transfer a video from your
PSP (or ext HD) to your PS3. It still puts the video in the root of the VIDEO
folder..! Even if you copy the folder with the video in it. Unless i'm missing
something, is no folders allowed in the video folder on the PS3..?

Been converting a lot of my PS1 games to run on my PSP, but it's hard to work out which game is which when booting them, because of the generic PSX logo. Can anyone point me in the right direction where i can get images for specific games, or is there an easy way of creating your own? Thanks

The best place to go, is over to MaxConsole forums.

Top of this page, is the forum for PS1 games on PSP.

                            PSX2PSP thread is here...

                            Hope this helps, good luck..

Meh, I wish I had that info sooner

All my PS games have the generic icon - you can always tell which is which tho by pressing triangle (I think) over the icon and choosing information.

Is there a way to alter them at all once they're loaded on?
