Does anyone own a Panasonic Viera TX32LXD60 LCD?

If so , have you ever experienced a buzzing problem from the back-top left (looking at it from the back), I believe this is where the power supply is. I've had nothing but problems with this certain model, the buzzing was there when I first got it and I should have taken it back then, but now after 16 months or so, it has returned.

My experience with the TV is outlined here http://www.avforums.com/forums/showt...08#post7504008 and quite frankly I've had enough of it, its been back to the shop 3 times now including this wednesday. I knew I should have taken it back as soon as it started doing it. Because its an intermittent fault they'll probably find nothing wrong with it and I'll look like a complete anal lemon having to admit I can't find a fault with it in the shop too. I might as well have chucked ?650 down the drain.

Just wondering if anyone else has one and has had the same problem, in that avsforums thread, quite a few people have commented on the buzzing problem from the back panel , but it has always gone away for them, like me, but for me it has returned.

so annoyed. so very annoyed. I'm trying my ps3 through component at present and it looks all ghosty and ass, nothing like HDMI. The buzzing seems to do it more on a black screen (i.e if you bring the XMB menu up).

I should do more testing before they pick it up on tuesday so that I can maybe eliminate the problem (try my wii over component etc) so I don't look a complete tosser in the shop ... again.

anyway thanks for reading, and hearing my pain.

Anyway, there seem to be a few reports of people hearing a similar buzzing to the one you have been hearing and not just on the model you have.

With the shop, I think you'll have problems trying to return it after this length of time to be honest.

With the stuck/dead pixels there will always be what they called within specification as there would be with the noise but I really don't know what the guidelines are for when something isn't within specification but I'm guessing if the TV is working and there wasn't any specific agreement with them then you may have difficulty getting them to replace it.

There may well be be guidelines as to what is classified as a working TV and what isn't. Perhaps Lyris would be worth asking about this?

Basically I know I won't get a replacement it aint gonna happen. I need to prove it'll do the buzzing noise in the shop, which is a problem as its an intermittent fault to begin with, I mean it hasn't done it for over a year. sigh. If I manage to prove its problematic they'll have to repair it, and might have a problem getting a part as its a discontinued set. So christ knows, I'd probably end up with some 'same spec' used refurbished bag of ****e.

meh, it does it over component on the ps3 too in 720p, its funny how it does it on a black screen whereas on a fully white screen all the RGB values are fully up and its silent as a mouse. a black screen and its buzzing so loud you can hear it over the speakers playing the actual sounds.

sigh, I think I might throw it out of the window.

I review a lot of LCD TVs that buzz slightly, as you say it can often be the power supply. How bad is it - something you can only notice up close, or something you can hear from a few feet back? One will likely be "within spec" and the other not...

Often, adjusting the intensity of the Backlight can cure buzzing problems, but (drum roll), Panasonic don't allow you to do that normally (one of the reasons I consistently give them bad reviews in fact). However, I hear that you can do this in the Service Menu. If you can find out how to get in there, you could maybe get rid of your buzzing.

I think one of mine is the lxd60, however i paid ?1600 for it (rrp of ?2100 at the time).

Look on the bright side man!

Is it the one with vga and an sd card slot?

Hmm, I can get in the service menu, but I'm afraid to touch much in there, I'll have another look though

And its a quite loud buzzing, I know theres the normal operation buzz, but this one has just come back, and its louder than the actual speakers when you have them on at a moderate to low level, its quite loud really.

@nick: no vga or sd card slot, maybe yours is the LXD600? I did think it had VGA but when I got it back it didn't, the bloody saleswoman told me it did.

Bingo! Return it on those grounds - say you've just noticed and was explicitly told it had a VGA input - misdescribed is almost certainly likely to get you somewhere.

I bought a cheap Panasonic TX-32LM70 from Amazon, and that allows me to adjust the backlight, unless I'm thinking of something else?

I haven't noticed any buzzing with it either.

That's interesting, it's not been present on any of the models I've tested (but I've not tested that one). I note that that's a non-UK model, perhaps the option only confused people here and was removed by Panasonic UK. That's great to see though.

Aint gonna happen matey I should have returned it in March 2007 when I found that out, just couldn't be arsed, bit late now really. It'd be just a word of mouth thing.

So, the guys in the van are coming some time today between 12 and 5 to pick it up, and its not buzzing as much as normal, bloody typical.

So, they've picked it up (for the 3rd time in a year) and I try explaining the problems to them and they look at me blankly (we don't do this stuff we just pick them up and deliver them) great. I'll no doubt go down to the shop and be unable to find a single problem after a week of them 'testing it' .. pfft

                          sigh

                            its back!

apparently 'felt has been applied to ferrite cores' - what a load of arse, I guess thats for noise dampening,

its actually worse than it was before, its constant now whereas before it was only on a very dark screen, changing the viewing mode from dynamic through auto , cinema etc turns it off for a few seconds, then it comes back as loud as ever.

its got to be a fault if its audible even when you're playing a game with the speakers up, i.e not on mute.

I wish I could take this heap of crap back, I really do.

I'm seriously thinking about going higher up although no-one will listen, I can't believe how they are shunning it off as normal operation when it blatantly isn't else it would have been there constantly like it is now, whereas its been vacant for the past year.

so annoyed. I am going to search for someone else to complain to. sigh
