Following this thread I've felt your pain ... and now I share your joy

Keeping everything crossed that everything else is fine.

What a weird thread to stumble upon. I've got the same tv and exactly the same problem. Again, changing the brightness of the screen gets rid of it for a bit but its intermittent. The tv's in the bedroom now and hardly used but I'm still a bit vexed because its only 2 years old and cost me a grand.
I bought it online and the guarantee will have gone now. Is it worth taking it to a regular TV repair bloke or do I need to contact Panasonic direct?

Your contract is with the shop you bought it from unfortunately, they might be able to repair it for a fee though, or a normal repair man might have a look.

The thing is, a light buzzing came back yesterday anyway, so even changing a panel on this thing hasn't sorted it, I'm destined to have it buzz , it seems

I really think its just a fault with this model of tv now. not much can be done.

                  That's a shame to hear.

I have read that a few people with that model have had the same problem though. It may just be down to one component in the TV, there was an issue with one of the Sony models a while back and it seemed to just depend on which of teh two factories your screen was made in.

Weren't you told before that it was within spec? If that's so then unfortunately you may just be stuck with it unfortunately. Have you had a look on the forums to see if there is perhaps a custom remedy to deal with it rather than an official one? Something like teh custom job people used to do with crappy 360s that weren't in warranty?

interesting you say that, although its not as bad as it was before when the guy 'repaired' it , plus the stuck pixel issue has gone. I think I'm just going to grit my teeth, turn up the volume and live with it.

I have considered opening it up myself and taking a look around the back though, but I really don't know. I'm not an LCD repair man, haha.

I'll turn it on in a bit and see how bad it is in the day time, to be honest, I've been playing the PS3 less and less at present anyway due to there being nothing I actually want to play on it really, I've tried a few demos like the pure one etc, but .. I dunno. More into me arcade stuff at the moment.

I'm too apathetic to phone up the panasonic shop and complain *again* , so it's just gonna have to stay like it is now its not too loud if I turn up the volume a bit I guess. especially not as bad as before by a long way.
