    I hear your pain!

I have a 32LXD500 and there's a buzzing from the top left. It changes pitch depending on what's on screen... so I took it to Sevenoaks and set it up in their test room, which was SO LOUD FROM ALL THE BACKGROUND NOISE IN THE SHOP they claimed they couldn't hear a problem. I could hear it. Bastards.

heh, same as me when I took mine to the shop and they forced me to sign a form saying it was fine, in the 5 minutes I was there, its intermittent ffs.

I guess we are helpless. I doubt I'll buy a panasonic tv ever again.

Just been on the phone to the repair guy, he did put noise cancelling felt on the ferrite cores surrounding the high frequency cables (!) but its made it FAR FAR WORSE. its just unusable now, I asked him if he tested it and he said of course he did, but honestly I just don't know anymore. it doesn't just do it on black screens or dark ones now, it does it all the bloody time, it changes pitch regarding whats on the screen, even with the volume quite high all you can hear is it buzzing over the top

        *explodes*

I'm going to contact trading standards I think, although what good will that do. I might even take it apart myself and have a look, I'm fed up with them taking it and bringing it back etc. its useless.

        GAH

edit (oh I said this before, apart from phoning the guy I guess, I suppose I was so enraged I lost all memory)

I thought noise cancelling felt was designed to combat resonance problems! That doesn't sound like a solution to me at all.

yeah, I asked him if he tested it after 'of course I did' well why didn't you hear the infernal noise its making now? Jesus, he said 'if you want I can take it off again' well thats a solution, back to bloody normal.

I might have a ritual and set it on fire in the back garden. I'm honestly close to attempting to repair it myself. its f*cking useless. My folks have bought panasonic kit all their lives and never really had any major problems, except maybe a rear projection tv lamp failing very early on, but the whole damn TV was replaced that time. I give up pretty much. *rolls around crying on the floor*

Drop it/Drop something on it. That's what insurance is for.

I know with CRT TV's any buzzing or 'singing coils' are normally given a dab of glue to prevent them resonating. Maybe it's time to get the glue gun out!

I did consider repairing it myself but I'd probably electrocute myself or feck something up, a well written letter is being sent to them today, to which they have to respond to by law.

                  *shrug*

Well, it seems they responded to the letter, took it to the service center instead of their shop, and they've fitted a totally new panel to 'stop this going round in circles'

so hopefully this will sort out the stuck pixel problem, also the buzzing.

They do say they still couldn't find a problem with it however, which is utter bull**** as the guy when picking it up noticed it straight away.

jesus, well its coming back this thursday so hopefully it might actually be sorted out, who knows. I will suffer a rage explosion if it isn't.

If they were going to that length, why not just give you a new telly?? Good luck with it anyway.

Yeah I know, the manager said on the phone 'its basically a new tv, apart from the casing' I was like ... sigh ok. I hope it was the panel though and not something like the power supply causing the issue. I hope it doesn't come back exactly the same.

time will tell, why do they always come at 5pm or close to, anyway? jesus

Well its back, and so far no buzzing, excellent! complaining gets you somewhere.

I will look later on to see if its the same panel or not, but who knows. I'll only be able to check the stuck pixels when its at night really.

                            god, I'm anal.
