Does anyone know whether it's possible to rip the audio of a DVD using a mac - so that it can be saved as a FLAC/MP3 etc an stored on an i-pod? If so, how?

Can do. I use MacTheRipper (google it) to rip the DVD to the hard disk, and as part of the settings (bottom right button) you can save as an MPG and demux the audio.

This will give you an .ac3 audio file. I then use an .ac3 to .aiff convertor and then into iTunes

Cheers for that - downloaded and trying now...

Edit - do you mean the settings on mac the ripper, as I have none! All I can seem to do is save the file as a videoTS.

Doing this from memory (don't have a DVD to hand, believe it or not!) Click on the Mode button, in the middle, and choose full disc extraction, that should then give you more options.

That worked! Cheers for that buddy.

I'm looking for some software that will allow me to set up an alarm using iTunes via Airport Express?

There seems to be quite a bit of freeware which allows you to do this but I'd like to get some personal recommendations before I start experimenting with them.

My AirportExpress turned up today and I'm having problems trying to stream music with AirTunes. I'm getting green lights as I should be but it's just not showing up in iTunes.

I've enable AirTunes in the setup and also chosen to share my music in iTunes but I'm not getting the option to connect to other speakers. I've reset everything and all my software is up to date but I'm still not having any luck.

I've had a look online but nothing has been able to help so any suggestions would be appreciated.

                  EDIT:
It's working now! Not sure what the hell happened but it seems to have sorted itself out.

I keep getting this bug with my MacBook Pro where, usually after closing and opening the lid a few times, all the graphics become corrupted when I scroll in a web page (for example). Resetting is the only way to fix it. Anyone else get this?

How's it working? Thinking of one of these myself. What's the sound quality like?

Had a complete nightmare installing xp on my macbook with bootcamp so decided it was better to live without it.

Formatted disc and migrated info back from a time machine backup.

Iphoto and itunes now not working. I have read about this before im sure but anyone able to put me right?

                        Cheers.

What exactly isn't working? If you haven't done so already repair your disk permissions in Disk Utility as a starting point.

                            Overheating GPU.

I get this with my PowerMac - the graphics card died outside warranty & I replaced with a (much cheaper) hacked / flashed PC graphics card.

                            Get it sorted under AppleCare.

                            Stroller.

It works brilliantly, the sound is the same as if you iTunes is connected with cables.

The slight problem I had connecting it was because I went for a used AirportExpress so didn't get any instructions and didn't know that I had to change some settings in iTunes.

If I'd known that it would have been up and running in just a few minutes. My router recognised it as an AirportExpress straight away and apart from the obvious wireless keys it was ready to go then.

I really can't recommend it highly enough, it's made me look forward to getting my iPhone even more as that will make the setup perfect then!

Before you buy one, it's worth mentioning that there's a very slight delay (less than half a second??) between pressing something on the apple remote and those things happening with the music. It's so slight that it makes no difference at all but I thought it best to make sure you know just incase it's something you really don't want.

                                Here's a stupid question.

If I install XP on my MacBook will it open it up to all the nasty PC based viruses etc?
