That looks perfect, I'd heard of the Airport stuff before but didn't really know what they were. Had a quick look at the extreme too but don't see anything on that version that I need.

I've had a look at some videos of it and it seems ideal. I'm a little confused though, does it need to be connected to my wireless router using an Ethernet cable?

Does anybody here use one of these? Would you recommend one? I can see them for about ?38 online from a trusted shop but about ?30 in shops that I've never used that also look slightly suspicious. anybody know of somewhere trustworthy that's cheaper?

    Thanks.

      CTRL+ALT+DEL, Task Manager, Processes Tab.
Find the program in there and hit the "Kill" or "Terminate" or "Force Quit" or whatever it's called. That will do it instantly
That's what I do. Some processes still refuse to die though.

John, is your PS3 by the audio stuff? I just stream iTunes to my PS3. These days everything goes through the PS3!

It is but I use Apple lossless which, as far as I'm aware, I can't stream vis the PS3.

No, it works via wireless, but you can add another device via ethernet at the other end, acting as a router kind of thing.

I have all my music on my Mac Mini media center, and have an Airport Express in the kitchen, hooked up to a stereo there. Using the Apple Remote on my iPhone, I can choose songs via iTunes on the Mac Mini and have them blasting in seconds through the kitchen.

Can't beat a bit of ska punk while doing the dishes!

Decided to stick with my mac mini due to the new prices.Got a 1gb stick of ram coming and want to upgrade to leopard.

I have seen upgrade "drop in" leopard dvds on ebay which looks the cheapest way to upgrade.Anyone had any experiences using this method whether good or bad.

Thanks, I'm definitely getting one now.

I've seen couple of different versions available but I'm not sure which to get. This is the one that I see most places...

I've seen this one a few places but I think it's an older model?

Any reason to go for one over the other?

For streaming music, you need an Express, not an Extreme. Go for the small boxy one.

I'm having problems with emails, I don't know if it's a problem with Apple Mail or with my email account itself.

I logged in here to see that there's been loads of replies but I'd not had any notifications for it. I didn't realise at the time but it was all my emails that hadn't been getting to me rather than the ones just from here.

I had this problem before and have sorted it out in the same way both times. I log out of Mail and into my webmail account to see a couple of hundred unread emails that hadn't been getting through to Mail.

I get rid of most of them and log out. I start up Mail and all of them are sent to me as unread.

Anybody know of a way around this as it's a bit annoying now?

Really impressed with how smooth everything works.I upped the ram to 2gb but i know it still works well with only 1gb ram.Best machine i have bought in a long time.

Please tell me how this works. Just got back from the old mans trying to sort out his PC. I have no patience but him, the language(!), i fear it's going to send him to an early grave.

Why is it so unresponsive? Why is it so backwards in it's jargon?

It was telling me no wireless networks found while why my 4 year old 12 inch powerbook was next to me with BBC news on Safari. I enter his details, so it tells me 'that network is already available.'!
While i was there i had visions of my motorbike boot going through the screen, and out the other side.

Why do people use these things? Utter, utter ****.

                      And relax.

John, are you getting the pop up 'rejected password' etc... Maybe set up a gmail account with mail and see if that does the same, see if its a problem with your emails server maybe. Have you enabled POP/forwarding on it?

I am assuming you want to know the guide to getting osx onto an advent / msi wind.

I used this guide here: osx on advent guide.

I know some people don't like the Mighty Mouse but it just feels right to me but I've never known a mouse have such problems with dirt getting inside. The number of times I've had to mess around with it due to the scroll ball not working due to stuff getting inside is incredible.

I've opened it up for the first time and given it a proper clean and the amount of unpleasantly coloured stuff in there is unbelievable.

It works perfectly now but I've left the bottom white surround thingy from the base off it to give me easier access next time.

Exactly what I did, every few months I take the roller ball (and runners) out and give them a Isopropyl Alcohol bath!

Great mouse (apart from right click needing the left finger off the mouse)(oh and the tedious cleaning)(and the poor battery life - bluetooth version)(and the lack of back/forward buttons like my old MS mouse)

How did you get it apart my good sir as after about a year mine needs a desperate clean, and stat!
