Depends how much you are willing to spend on cables. You could get the best Scart RGB cable ever and it wouldn't be any different to the best component input one. As said above shielding is really the key. i.e. you need a good cable if you want the best of best pictures.

True, its possible to get SCART cables good enough to fail to tell the difference. Its just that they tend to be more expensive than getting three decent phono cables, really.

Yeah but if you don't have component inputs then at least you know you can get the best picture input to your TV 8)

I've got the IXOS XHT 601 scart leads, 2 of them, one for my NTL digital box and the other for my DVD player. They're here, I managed to get 2 for ?35 off of a mate. Would component input be worth it? I've also heard that 100hz on anything under 28" isn't really a good idea

I switched off the 100Hz mode to be honest. I don't think it looks good at all.

Hmm, seeing as 100hz is a bit crap, prog scan won't be any good for me and I've got pretty decent scart leads, is it worth me going for that model as opposed to the one down?

The more expensive one looks a lot better. I can get the wifey to ask at work (Tosh) for inside info on it if you want? Not sure if she has a contact in the telly arena, but I'll ask her...

why not its worth the extra cash and prog scan is amazing, if you've got import consoles ?. plus an extra scart socket

its up to you really though.

I sold my GC and my XBox so I have no use for Prog Scan (although I guess I may have in the future) so I've only got 2 inputs into the TV and I have my Argos Scart splitter (both TV's only have 1 RGB scart so I'd have to use it on both). It's so damn hard to find reviews on TV's on the net, I thought it would be easier.

It seems I've narrowed it down to these 2 though:

                    Toshiba 28ZD26: ?460
                    Toshiba 28Z23: ?350

Is seems the ?460 one has a lot more buzzwords like Digital Comb Filter, Super Scene Control, Colour Detail Enhancer, Digital Noise Reduction etc. But it'd be nice to know if in reality these make a difference to the picture quality.

Nip down to a shop & have a look at both of em with the same inputs. Most of the weird techy buzzwords do actually make a difference, surprising as it may seem. Also, try picking up / skimming a copy of Home Cinema Choice mag, they have a big review round-up in the back.

I'll grab a copy of Home cinema. I might be off on a day trip to Blue Water tomorrow as well (my 21st birthday ) so I'll see if there's any decent electrical shops around there.

Cheers for all the help people

Super scene contol modes=super live,widescreen,4:3,cinema and subtitle.

Digital noise reduction slightly smooths out the picture but tbh you realy have to stare at the screen to notice.

The other feature aren't on my set so i can't give you any advice on those.

                              Yes mate.

I haven't compared it to any other TV but the picture looks excellent with my Gold Plated OXF scrat lead and new sony DVD player.

Yeah, I'll have to check out some at Bluewater but I think that's the one I'll go for, ?326 at Empire Direct.
