Some spyware sets your home page to about:blank but theres nothing wrong with setting it that way.

Is there anything about that will do the same as Hijack-This but for free?

I have Ad-Aware and Spybot but they don't seem to be picking up half the stuff this found on it's free check, especially the DLLs.

It was from a website called hijack-this though! Cheeky buggers. I think I've got the right one now.

I've got this REALLY annoying spyware just installed on my machine out of the blue (as always), its hijacked my IE start page and I just can't delete it through any programs nor manually. I dunno its name but it uses an sp.html file to **** eveything up back i just can't find it and i can find the sp.dll but windows wont let me delete it. Erm anyone removed this thing? every 2minutes i get like a popup of some sort its really pissing me off.

Thanks for the url, still can't get rid of it i've even gone to ms-dos to delete it and it says access denied. I think it quite possibly the godfather of all spyware.

Bah, bah and bah. I've got this thing that comes up in the task bar that asks to update windows, I never noticed it. It's like a little yellow shield thing and it says it's a windows up date. My dad clicked it and downloaded it. I noticed the computer was running a bit slower, so I ran adaware and it found that there was `malware` frim `windupdate` and `blazefind`. The windupdate one adaware says is a high risk one. However, Adaware can't remove them which is a bit rubbish. Has anybody got any idea how i'll be able to get rid of it? Thanks very much.

                            UPDATE

I just downloaded hi jack this, and it got infected with a worm straight away, but macAfree detected it and deleted the worm and hi jack this

MSN Virus...bastard. (oops didnt see sticky. :\ )

Left my MSN on all day today, came back to see a message from someone saying

"OMG This is so funny *Link of some kind*"

Think the file extension was "Cute" or somthing

I cba to click the link, so i just closed the msn window. Then i got it again, from someone...and again.

Finnally i recieved one from Smegaman, i asked if this was some new internet joke thats going around. I also asked how come everyone has written the same sentance...Like a prat when i got no reply, i clicked it. It seemed to open everyone who is on my msn list, and sent them the same message. Just ran a virus scan and ive got 21 infected files because of this. (only ran my virus checker this morning and everthing was fine.) So far, i dunno what its done other than spam messages.

Anyone else get this? Not sure if the virus checker will be enough....MEH!
