That's a PEGI rating which is, basically, just advisory. Retailers are under no obligation to sell a game with a PEGI 16+ rating to people over the age of 16. They could sell it to a 5 year old and not get into any trouble. This is why I said the game was released in a cut state...to avoid a compulsory BBFC certificate which would restrict sales figures.
If it had a BBFC logo (red circle, with "15" in the middle) then retailers MUST NOT sell it to anyone under that age.
The whole PEGI rating is completely pointless in this country when we have a compulsory system (BBFC) that is:
a, far more strict
b, legally binding and not just advisory to the public/retailers
PEGI replaced the ELSPA rating to give more information to potential buyers (violent content, swearing etc) but it has no legal repercussions for retailers or anyone who ignores itLast edited by RLench; 23-09-2004, 18:00.

Thanks for that. I still have no idea where that unconfirmed list comes from.
I'll remove it from the new thread - can no longer edit the first post in this one. Have asked the mods to unsticky this and sticky the new thread which can be found here:
