    Indeed.

I hate it when some people claim S-video looks better than RGB because the latter looks too "sharp".

There isn't much difference between s-vid and RGB. Indeed on some TVs (such as my own), RGB does seem to lose some of the richness of colours in favour of sharpness of picture.

Like 1/2 pint, I had been getting a **** picture on my GC through my RGB scart cable.

Went out and bought another cable - problem solved. Virgin had sold me a fakie cable. ft:

          6 months!

Once you're eye is trained you can tell the difference between a composite and RGB picture within a few seconds. It's sad that I spend so much of my time studying other people's setups to see if i can improve the quality...

Please, sam, come to my house... I'd appreciate any help you can give me...

All my games seem 'fine' in terms of quality, but I only have 1 Scart socket, and my dad doesn't know the model number or anything :S so I don't know if the socket is RGB! ... but *ALL* my NTSC GC games display off the right of the screen, so I lose a good 3 inches of the picture...

Some games you can align, but most of them have no such option!

            BASTARDS!

              That
              is
              so
              funny!
              .
              I
              just
              died
              .
              Awesome......

If you get the argos scart switcher you can switch rgb on and off just to persuade yourself that composite really was as ****e as you remember.

And for anyone looking for cable recommendations, do a search ffs.

Ha, the jokes on all of you. My TV plays RGB, but too dark. And when you turn the brightness up, you see a 'shadow' of what was on the TV before (mmm, Eastenders AND Halo).

So, in my case, composite rules! Damn Philips 15" TV... ft:

Don't buy 3 games and instead get the Bush rgb tv 21" tv from tesco. Cheap as chips. Throw the philips in a skip.

I be to differ... you can REALLY notice the improvement with the Gamecube although perhaps not so much with the Xbox whose RGB quality I've always found questionable.

The svid on the n64 was poo (on a stick). I've never understood how a TV designed to display a picture on red green and blue pixels connected up to a console with decent rgb output can ever be anything but better than svideo.

Hey Nips, whats wrong with the GC System Menu? Turn your 'cube on without a game in or the lid flipped up, and then find the setting, can't quite remember which direction you gotta press, but there's only four options. You're a gamer, play with it, and then post back and thank me.

It's not just the X axis, the Y axis is also off and the system menu only alters the X.

But is isn't too bad... I had previously changed my GC axis settings... but after you mentioned it, have now gone a few notches to the centre... So thanks for reminding me about that!

Is there a similar option for the XB... I have a similar problem with that, too high, but too the left of the screen.

Wouldn't know, sorry. Haven't got an Xbox but with allthe modding you can to do it, I'm sure there must be a way.

You could always try accessing the Sergice Menu on the TV, and then moving the screen from there. Try looking over at http://www.avfourms.com for the make and model of your TV. BUT.......BE CAREFUL - you can mess your TV up playing with settings your not supposed to. Good luck.
