Iv got an import Panasonic Q, 2 Xboxes and a PAL N64. I'm going in to town today so will the Argos one do the job for me with said consoles? At the mo iv got the Q, Xbox and N64 plugged in but wanted to plug in the other Xbox.

Rightio I went and got the Argos one today in town for the grand total of ?9.97

Strangely enough though the one i got is the Index one but i got it from Argos. Weird ****.

Iv got to still buy an RGB cable though so will probably go for this one which was recommended by huxley.

      at ?19.95

Any other recommendations on an RGB cable? because the unit didnt come with one.

Ill have to either order it online or go in to the store though and i wont be able to make it in tomorrow so ill see how fast the delivery is online now firstly.

          Will the above 2 work for Panasonic Q, N64, Xbox X 2 ?

Heh Richersounds doesnt want me to order online it seems. When i go to add to checkout it says call your store.

          Meh.

Xbox - yes, with a RGB enabled lead.

N64 - no, only modded US N64s will output RGB generally.

PanaQ - I'm not sure on these, I do know that you need a modded RGB lead for US/JAP GCs to work.

By the way, there's no difference between the Argos and Index switchers apart from the case and button positions - the internal circuitry is the same.

              Xbox - Good
N64 - It works perfectly at the mo with the red, yellow and white leads (havent a clue what they are called, so Id assume that this wont change)
Pana Q - Got a lovely Saurian modded RGB lead.

                You're sorted then.

Oh, and the N64 lead is composite.

Fantastic stuff. Reasonable value at ?30 all in with the box and cable.

Just thought I'd post while I'm looking, I recently got a Oneforall sv-1600 here and I have to say it beats the poop out of other solutions for about the same cash. Nice looking for a start with all leads in behind, 4 inputs and all of them RGB wired.

THIS 3way splitter is excellent value for money. You have to choose your own scart cable to connect it to the TV. Make sure your cable is long enough to reach from the scart socket on your TV to where you keep the splitter. Visual performance drop is negligable when compared to plugging devices directly into the TV. The unit is plastic, with manually selected channels. In addition to the channel selectors, there are two signal routing buttons, which must both be in the "up" position, achieved by pressing one down slightly so the other pops up. There are also audio outputs for directing the audio signals to an amplifier. There is also and "RGB on/off" button, which is nice for seeing the difference between RGB and composite and thus educating your friends. We prefer the manual switch boxes rather than auto-switching devices, since they generally give less problems with interference and also allow you to leave 2 devices turned on without issues.

A similar device is available at Index online. This is metal and slightly cheaper. I can't vouch for the picture quality, but several people on these boards use them and are very pleased with them.

THIS Argos rgb splitter has 5 inputs, but the output lead is built in, so you can't choose your own and the lead is obscenely short. My NTSC GC gets interference through this device (I have tried replacing it twice, but it seems like a "feature" of the unit), but is perfect with my PAL DC, NTSC N64 and VCR. I plug this into the 3way splitter above "daisy-chain" style. Some people have had other problems with this unit.

If you are unsure which scart lead to go for and aren't bothered about ultimate performance, THIS Hitachi lead is fully wired for RGB and is a good price. Use this to connect the 3way splitter to your TV. I use this on my TV and have compared it to a ?50 ixos cable and the difference in performance is tiny. People have commented on how good the picture looks.

THIS 3way component splitter is used and recommended by at least two forum members. It also has 2 svideo, 2 composite and 10(!?!) audio inputs.

turns out i had the first scart splitter mentioned here tried my ntsc ps2 but i only shows black and white pictures is it because i have a faulty scart splitter?

Do you get colour when you plug it directly into the TV instead of via the splitter (using the same scart port on the TV)? If so, then press the RGB button on the splitter. If not, try the other scart ports, or your TV isn't NTSC compatible and you arent using an RGB lead.

yes i get colour when i plug in directly to the tv .Two possibiltys one the splitter is faulty (it is quite old) or 2 the scart cable i use to connect the splitter to the tv cannot accept the signal
i tried a blaze 3 way scart connecter it has the same problem as well

Definitely sounds like the scart lead you're using from the splitter to the TV isn't a fully wired one.
Open up one end and have a look at it.

sorry if this is a little off topic but its still splitters!

anyone know if there is such thing as an optical cable splitter?
this is to get ps2 + xbox optical cables into 1 optical input on an amp.
