I was actually going to ask that earlier! Managed to mod mine and test it with thanks to Soundwave and have been looking for various titles. Amazon.com seem to be pretty good and promise no import duty as you pay it with the shipping. Planet Axel, DVDWorldUSA and Movietyme I've all used before for region free stuff and were fine. The first two actually import the discs to their offices over here before shipping them on (Movietyme might too, I can't remember).

That aside the only other place I've come across, and actually ordered from today is a website called inetvideo. They seem to sell a lot on ebay and Amazon so should be fine and despite actually costing as much as each film, postage was alright at $10 I felt - at least in line with what other places seem to charge.

Still got a F and H multiregion player which I picked up for fifty bones a couple of years. But this looks like a great deal.

Oh meant to add on the import front I get pretty much all mine from Barnes and Noble during their Criterion sales, as these are the only A discs I tend to play.

For my import discs I tend to use a mixture of Ebay & proper online stores...

Inetvideo - were awesome back in the HD-DVD days, got most of my rare US titles from them (I am Legend, Appleseed & Justice League were all sub $10 each back in the day)

Movietyme - use these most lately but their delivery times are getting really bad...can take upto 3 weeks to get titles

DVDworldusa - Awesome if you don't mind paying a bit extra, quick delivery times & a big selection...including quite an awesome gore section if that's your thing (Movietyme do a good line in this as well)

Deepdiscount - pretty sweet US based company, prices are good & have the biggest anime selection ever

on Ebay I use these sellers...

Thecellar666 - Fantastic for gorehounds & those interested in Exploitation cinema (Escape...he should be right up your alley )

All_your_music - good prices & quick delivery, used them for all my DBZ Kai Blu's as they were all sub ?18 delivered

          Hope that helps guys

Can anyone advise on how to get the BDX1200 to read a USB stick? I'm probably being a thicko here, but have tried two different USB sticks - one with an AVI file, the other with a DIVX file - and nothing happens when you put the stick in. I can't seem to access it anywhere, nothing loads automatically. Something wrong with the player, or user error?

              Thanks
              Tony

You need to press the MC button near the top-left of the remote.

Jees i just drop ?280 on a Pioneer BDP-140 multizone player, and then stumble upon this.

The pioneer is a great player mind.

Discovered that there is a slight bug with this player where some AVC discs (2 out of the 50 or so I've tested so far) will play back with the wrong frame order, causing weird motion. Talking to Toshiba about a fix. I just hope that any fix doesn't kill the multi region mod...

I wouldn't rely on another fix, the model has been superseded so Toshiba are more than likely going to give up on it.

The 1100 model which I had before trading it back for this one had a pretty severe bug where it would pop up the chapters menu on ALL 20th century fox disks whenever a new scene began. There was a fix released for the US version of the player, but Europe never saw one.

Thanks - didn't know that! However, I still have a problem in that I'm putting AVI files on the memory stick, yet the player isn't seeing them. I'm writing the files to the stick - is there something else I should be doing?

They'll need to support it for some time though - they can't just ditch them after release. Will let you know if I get any joy from the tech support people - so far nothing, I need to get to someone higher up.

I guess it would depend on how old the player is. The BDX1100 as I've said is officially dead to Toshiba now (in Europe anyway, surely the process of converting an NTSC update to a PAL one is not that big of an undertaking?).

Given how you're quite well to do with AV stuff, maybe you could grease the old wheel so to speak with threats of negative recommendations on account of poor product support if nothing is forthcoming?

Picked up one of these on the strength of Lyris's recommendation.

Currently it's sat there stuck on the Initial Wizard setup menu. I *think* it's the remote control, as even turning it on with it was very troublesome. I'm charging an old Harmony I have kicking around to test it out.

Player is making a bit of a squeeling noise that I'm finding very annoying, but my AV stuff lives about 30cm away from where I sit. I may have to put it on a higher shelf. If I can get it working.

Got it working with the Harmony. I don't know if it's the one I have, but this is noisy. Going to take it back tomorrow and try for another one.
