    Couple of q's...

Do you think the remote control(s) would manage if you had two of these boxes daisy-chained together? Also, did you manage to avoid getting stung by customs at ?39.99 from Play.com?

    Cheers,

    Rob
There will be no customs because it's a u.k product and the vat is already paid.

I'm thinking of getting another one and was wondering about the remote, should be o.k if you put them on different shelves.

Can you tell me who makes this unit? Or can you tell me any dimensions of the unit itself?

        It's made by Joytech.

        No customs charges.

Two remotes - don't know but it's got a manual selector.

I'll measure it tonight for you.

Methinks I'll take the plunge - pity Play.com are out of stock at the mo...!

Does one socket have to be used to connect to the TV? So I can only connect another 3 devices up then?

There are 5 sockets on the back mate, so it looks like you can connect 4 devices upto it with the 5th as an output .

                      Hitcher;

does this box autoswitch as well as manual & remote? the website doesn't mention it... so i'd guess not?

No autoswitching - they're the ones I've had trouble with before.

It can also be switched off.

                          No autoswitching
pity... I'd rather like to just be able to switch on one of my consoles and play. Might as well stick with a mechanical switch if I have to fiddle with more buttons anyway.

what trouble did you have with auto-switchers? (and which ones, so I don't buy one)

Just got 2 of the Argos ones (same as RLench) and 2 gold plated scart leads (JVC) and i have to agree there is no loss in picture quality on the consoles in box 2, however everything has very slight lines running from top to bottom of the screen, which i imagine is interference/noise.This is most noticeable on my X-Box, and is virtually non existent on the DC, with the Saturn being the middle ground. (The Q actually seems better!)
I also can now hear the tv coming through AV1 when i dont have anything switched on.
Any ideas what can be done, or is it a case of 'what d'you expect for a tenner a go'.
Any one have the play one yet, and witnessed anything similar?
                              Thanks
                              Nick

Same setup as you... no problems... You might have got a knackered box.
