Region Free Xbox/Xbox 360 Games (list in thread)

Just wondering if Splinter Cell Conviction has been confirmed as being region free anywhere? I have an NTSC-J 360 and would be buying a PAL copy of the game.

As Farenheit alludes to Ubi games tend to be region free. I'll be able to test for sure on Friday (PAL game on NTSC-J machine).

Damm, I thought their record was unblemished. Clearly not. They certainly did well with the previous Xbox so I'm wondering if it was just a launch title snafu.

I can't find a definitive answer anywhere, so I might as well ask here, since it's related.

I have "unmodified" PAL Xbox (original) and by "unmodified" I mean, I have only region changed it with Enigmah to gain progressive modes to my PAL games. Can I play imported NTSC games with it?

I have read that if you have NTSC Xbox, almost all PAL imports work. Judging by the rather short list of games on the first page, i'll take it it's not the case the other way around? I've also read Enigmah makes it's changes to the eeprom, so wouldn't that make my console NTSC from the games point of view? Atleast that would support my findings, since all of my PAL games still work without a hitch. If not, wouldn't you need, 2 lists? One for NTSC versions on PAL consoles and one for PAL versions on NTSC consoles.

Enigmah does not change regions. It changes video standards. For a region change you'd need something like Configmagic.

PAL copy of Splinter Cell: Conviction works on my US console. Won't get a chance to test it on my NTSC-J console till later in the week but I'd be surprised if it didn't work.

Ok, I've already used it to save my eeprom. So does anyone know if Jade Empire NTSC work in PAL machine? I'm not really sure how to read the list on the first page.

Not sure about NTSC-U, but it worked fine on my Japanese machine so I'd guess it would be totally region free.

I would love to know for sure as well. I really want FIFA 10, but i have a US machine and dont want to risk it. I mean playasia lists that World Cup works on US/JP machines but not on PAL, so there not always completely region free.
