Agree with this post completely - even if I bought every region-locked shooter and stocked up on enough J-360s to last me through the next 10 years it'd still be cheaper and considerably easier than any other option.

Appreciate not everyone is as bonkers and are only dabbling into these games, and if people don't want to buy an import 360 that's fine. Just I don't see it as a legitimate reason to pirate - the only difference to ESPGaluda, Ibara, Mushi & Dai Ou Jou being locked on the PS2 is the hardware cost, and I don't remember people saying it was ok to pirate PS2 imports.

I'd much rather them be region-free too, but it's not *that* big a deal - to label buying a J360 as unreasonable on one hand and then on the other criticise Cave for not shooting themselves in the foot trying to make the game region-free seems a little unfair too.

Guess I'll just have to watch videos of them on YouTube or wait until a machine comes up at a reasonable (under £120) price.
Strider..If you want a Japanese machine for that price, or thereabouts...keep an eye on feebay..they sell time after time much cheaper than the sales forum (In the UK)

I dont really see the argument to pirate either...if it's region locked a pirate copy will still be region locked & as said I'm pretty sure EspaII hasnt hit MAME or FBA yet either has it??

Ok so the cost is suddenly a bit higher becuase of the weak ? I mean I got my launch Jpn 360 from Bleeders back in 2006 for the measly sum of ?200 with 8 games but it did only die on me in the back end of 2009 & even then it's not red ringed it's just a graphic fault that freezes in game.

But even for ?170 plus shipping from Renchi for an Arcade I'm more than happy to shell out just for the shooters...dont forget Senko 2 is due soon as well to me it's worth every penny.

I will be venturing down the dedicated cab route myself this year but I will only be able to buy very few games in my entire lifetime due to the unbeliveable cost of PCB's so region locked or not being able to buy & play CAVE shooters without mortgaging the flat every other month is a bonus.

Agree re the pirating and I certainly won't be taking that route.

However, the PS2 comparison isn't really fair. It's not just a hardware cost issue. If the 360 was as reliable as other consoles, I'd have imported one by now. Don't fancy being stuck with a broken Japanese 360 though.

Now, obviously that's not Cave's fault, but if they want their user base to expand, region-free seems a sensible move to make, even if things have started slowly with MF.

Shame, as I'd love to support Cave, but it's just not feasible for me to go the J360 route.

Looking awesome ... and rock hard.

Going to have to get my head around the Kakusei system all over again

              Wow that looks tough!
What it is the scoring hook again?
I stuck Espgaluda on the PS2 the other night and I'd completely forgotten the hook
(I got Mushi and Deathsmiles currently occupying my memory blocks)

I should have made it clear earlier that i do not pirate, i don't personally but don't hold it against anyone who would in this scenario. As it is i have a cab and would rather spend the money getting pcbs than a second 360, these games can be played for years anyway.

All that said i would like Espgaluda 2, i quite liked it when i played it in an arcade, although i prefered Mushi Futari, but all the extra modes sound great.

                  Bought a JP 360 p much for ESP2.

I'll probably nab my 60GB HDD from my Falcon Premium model and turn my Jasper JP into a Premium itself.

                  Now for the other games...

It is annoying - but it can't be helped.
