The swap weapon button is B(Red) and the change fire rate is A(Green), so you probably hit the wrong button if you were swapping weapons instead of changing fire rate. Think you hold A and it brings up the wee selection screen for fire rate. If you cant change when lying down that is poor!!

Nah, the option's greyed out when you hold the A button down, but I didn't notice the first couple of times I tried it. When the game ended, I could just hear the rest of my team (by now all dead) yelling at me to get on my feet, so they obviously knew what I was trying to do.
I'm not sure why it was swapping to my pistol, though, rather than just ignoring my failed attempt to select the command.

Just like you and Gerry and the lessons you've taught the rest of us about how running in front of tanks is a bad idea
Bit annoyed now. Just finished the third mission in the campaign. Mission four starts. Saves. I select my weapons and save again, so that I don't have to go through the intro loading next time.
"A problem has occurred. Please restart your Xbox."
Restart the Xbox, go to load the campaign save - "Campaign corrupted." Have to start all over again.
Did they even bother testing this game? According to a lot of people on the official forum, it sounds like Ubi Soft shipped the PAL version completely aware that this random crash bug was an issue - it happens in the US version, they received a bunch of complaints about it, they acknowledged that it was a problem, they still pushed the PAL version out of the door without bothering to fix it, simply to meet the release date. Bunch of ****ing jokers.

I played this online last night until 2am
It's awesomeSo much fun, so clever and genuinely just a superb online game. So many genuinely funny moments where we either worked together/didn't work together and it backfired on us. Three of us taking out a campsite of soldiers while one person stands back and takes out the vehicles. Andrewfee's long-range ownage with the grenade launcher is a sight to behold though

They do seem to have just not tried with lobby system in this. I do hope that one day all live games will take Halo 2 as an example but until then at least give us the full live functionality
Just keep finding things I thought were standard you just can't do, such as send messages and see who is playing in your friends games. Not knowing if your friends are playing a live game or just messing about in singleplayer is pretty anoying especially when you can't send them a message to ask.
Anyway, rant over. This is, once you get though all them menus, a fantastic game to play and actually worth putting up with the problems.

I'll be on in a while - about eight or nine.
Mardigan> Yep, it was my entire campaign save screwed. Rotating saves seems to be the only answer, although I've heard other people say that it doesn't happen if you just accept the autosave at the beginning of every new mission and don't save mid-mission. But that's suicidal, because the slightly random nature of enemy placement means that doing an entire mission in one sitting without getting killed is difficult and a little chancey - I tried to do a one-sitting run through mission one earlier, got right to the end of it (clearing out the village, destroying the ammo dump) without losing any of my team, only to die when I was sniping at enemies in the village and got taken out by a truck that had snuck up behind me and which my AI team had all ignored, instead all sitting there staring forwards dumbly.
Not too smart at keeping an eye out behind you, the AI, and there's no way of manually issuing it orders to do so.
