Nigeria 0 - 1 Paraguay

What can i say? My strikers were woeful and could not find the back of the net no matter what. Had 15 shot to Paraguays 5, but an 89th minute screamer on the volley from on the edge of the area following a cross on the right flank sealed it for Paraguay.

Think its fair to say Nigeria dominated proceedings, but a combination of slow and inaccurate passing, profligate finishing and a fairly solid Paraguay defence thwarted all efforts at getting the goal that the play, especially in the second half, probably desered. Paraguay had a majority of their chances in the first half, where it was more of an even game. That late winner though has left me stunned, and im suprised my controller/xbox isnt out the window!

Nah mate! Had a bit of a laggy first half too. Dont know what the **** is going on at the mo.

What i do know is i ****ing hate Nigeria now. They wont pass the sodding ball to eachother, and when i do get a chance, it wont go in unless Okocha is on the end of it. Grrrrrrr!

Yoshimax (Paraguay) 0 - 1 (Mexico) RustyIdiot

I think in all honesty it wasn't a game that exuded class, but wasn't a game devoid of shots and attacking play either. I went into the game half knowing tonight's other results and thinking that I needed to win by a goal difference of more than 2 (still not entirely sure if I have that right or not). However it was Yoshimax who managed to get the most shots away; 19 in total making my 10 shots look less like a man trying for a 0-3 win.

The first half was quite lively and we both had some half chances, altho no-one really carved out a definitive effort. I stole a goal towards the end of the first half; Bravo converted a corner with a header.

The 2nd half was mostly Yoshi's - he had a shot which defied my keeper and managed to hit both posts (I think) without actually crossing the line - quite how it wasn't a goal I'll never know. Most of my play in the 2nd half was speculative long shots which, on a better day, may have gone in but as Yoshi said at the beginning of the game "the keepers quite good".

Well played and completely lag-less game from my point of view, not sure if I've done enough to progress to the next round however.

Turkey 2 - 2 Sweden

Silly result from a great game. Sweden deserved the victory from the off, and I'm sure true to form Mardigan will levy us with detailed match report.

In summary: Turkey went 2-0 up in the first half, the first goal from a good through ball the second by fluke. Also in the 1st half Turkey should have had a penalty awarded against them for a foul inside the area. Sweden dominated the entire game and justifiabley were awarded a penalty in the dying seconds of the 1st half, which was cleanly put away to make the score 2-1. Sweden then had a multitude of chances in the second half - one of which resulted in the goal - but frankly - the end result doesn't reflect the flow of play at all. Turkey did not derserve a draw, they should have lost the game four or five one.

It was pretty even at the start and we both had chances but once I put the first goal away I started to take control. I don't really remember the goals so they obviously weren't that special.
