Good solid game Twisted, your Cameroon look like they will do quite well. You hold ontothe ball well and your use of the keeper at times to open up the play is good. Spread the ball about well but just couldn't get the clear cut chances carved open. The second goal was the luck of the break, it fell really kindly for Freddie. The goals being so close together was a real blow for ya as you played some nice stuff and I was really camped in my 18 yard box for the last 10 minutes

All the best with the rest of the group games.

I had a couple games against random manz the other night - both opted for AC and Brazil.

It's getting on my bloody nerves now, I did have some brilliant Bayern/Valencia tussles, some really good footballing matches. But other games, a few of the wusses opted for the easy option of Milan and Brazil, beginning to get on my nerves now, mainly because they're **** at the game and it's all long-ball up to the big-name players and bundle the defender out of the way for a clear-run on goal and not much else, no real incisive passing or creative play when that line of play is thwarted and dealt with easily. But, as is usually the case, they will get the better of the defender some of the time allowing a free-run on goal.

What makes it worse is that my form is suffering terribly at the moment, so my frustration levels are sky-high.

Thats the beauty of these tournaments... the games I have had either in the cup itself or with boys from this thread have without doubt been the best for me on live. Matching up 2 players with the lesser teams forcing you to use solid tactics and actual football is the way you want to play. I hate using the likes of Barca, Inter, etc now and will go for Deportivo in nearly all my games. You can tell a real player by the team they go

Absolutely, my best games have been using either Bayern or Valencia. I like the fact that most of the guys on here actually play football and not lump it up field all the time.

I use Roma all the time now. Im seriously bored of people picking the same sides. I had 4 games in a row the other day against Chelsea (different opponents each time), which had been preceded by 3 games against Man Utd! Its really tedious, and i sometimes wish you could quit out when you see them picking teams like this.

Still, its all good when they eventually go down to the underdogs!

Will look out for you tonight Goldbricker. Havent played you before, so should be interesting. Im still not sure on the best line up for my Nigeria side, as i cant decide wether to use Martins out wide or up front. Saying that, i took and England scalp last night, whihc was nice. Okocha is lethal in the hole behind the front men!

Agreed Marmite - I prefer to stick to my friends list for games these days because you know 99% of the random players you face will end up picking the likes of United, Barca, Brazil etc.

It'd be great to quit out at team selection and not get punished for it, but to be honest now though, I don't really care for my stats, just having some good matches does me fine.

                  Mr Mardigan, beat me.......

To be fair he took 2 of his umpteen chances and I took none . His keeper made an impossible save from my penalty he dived for top corner, i played to bottom and he ice cream scooped it to saftey , unbelievable.

It was pretty even all in, but you take your chances you take your points.

I'll be on tonight for some, inbetween messing about with my DS !

Absolutely...played a guy and was all over him for 90 mins, he lumps it up to Henry who bundles my defender over and gets a free run on goal and scores!!

I've never experienced such a frustrating game!!! I'm starting to disregard the rankings now, I play Goldbricker and Widegoat quite a bit with a variety of teams and the games are much more enjoyable.....so long as I win

Cheers, yeah just lacked that cutting edge, I've only been playing online so not really practiced the whole shooting thing either!

You'll go far in the tournament...just watch out for that Goldbricker!!

Agreed, at some point during the game the defender will get bundled out of the way, depends how good a finisher the opponent is.

This game brings out the worst in me, it really does. I never swear and curse as much as I do - until I start playing this and it's funny, cause' I don't know why since it's a bloody game.

I dunno, I guess I feel "wronged" with the decisions or my general play or how my players turn like tanks most of the time.

The ref shows favouritism every now and again, I played against a random. Shock horror he picked Brazil. It was even although he got every single tackle as a free kick, then my players didnt get one !!

Pisses me off, but hey i still beat him with a bobby dazzler from Recoba

Dont worry, I have his number. He wriggeld by me in the final of the previous cup 1-0 so out for revenge this time around and my Sweden team have been briefed on the importance of this tournament their commitment showed last night though, hehe.

It seems, more so in this version than before, that when things are going against your team their moral suffers (or something similar) and you'll go through patches where you can't string more than a couple of passes together and mistakes are made. I suppose it's realistic but at the same time quite annoying...

I guess it mirrors real football in that respect, but it is very frustrating, especially when you know within yourself you should be winning, but can't hit the back of a cow's arse or the opposing keeper becomes a super-human entity where unsaveable shots are saved not once or twice, but three times in a row.
