Gamertag Fraud

I DID erase all the stuff from my old XBox, or thought I had. The Credit card details are old and no longer in use somehow he is piggybacking on the current 360 live account I am using... so am guessing he fires up Halo2, gets the profile option of Mardigan8 on start up, selects that and hey presto he is in a game, sending out game invites and actually saying he is Mardigan8, haha, unbelievable!!

If I need to change my Gamertag then so be it but hopefully it wont come to that... would be rubbish changing my name to Mardigan9

Over the weekend, this wretch will be put in place or the Gamer tag will have to be changed... but hopefully it wont come to the latter.

Bit worrying, I also left my account on my Xbox when it was traded at Game. Completely forgot to remove it.

Would they have access to your card details?

No, not full access to your credit card, but they could use your tag.

Actually, you should sign up for a 1 month gold trial under a new name - send him an invite, then tell him you know where he lives, where he bought the Xbox from & you're gonna do him for identity theft! Tell him every time he logs on, he's being tracked by M$!!

Actually, when get this sorted want to get back into Halo2 for a bit before GR3 and BF2 hit... seems to have a bit of a ressurgence recently!!

Right... turns out when you do an account recovery on your 360 to get your live details onto the 360 framework it should corrupt any account you had on an old XBox... so, it looks like that never took place when I recovered my account initially. To sort it I need go through the account recovery on my 360 again to ensure the corruption of the old XBox account goes through... fair enough.

Phew, thought the lad was gonna tell me I had to change my Gamertag... will get this account recovery thing done again tonight and hopefully that be end of it...

If you do a recovery on another 360 it warns you that your gamesaves will be wiped on the old console. I bet it doesn't work as I've had mulitple copies of my live account spread between 3 xboxes and it never even flinched.

Mardi I'll jump on throughout today inbetween lost/the shield/24 and if i see the little **** I'll get him told - Pretend I'm MS support, you've called us and we're IP logging him - if he knows what that means it should put the ****s right up him.
