Lets put it this way, levelling a PM online is a long, drawn-out, tedious process (why oh why can't we feed them more than one item Mr. Sega?). Feeding the PM in story mode has half of the effect it has online. For example if I feed my online PM a damage trap it adds +4 to Ranged, offline it's +2. I only got Pete upto level 10, then occured to me that it was damn pointless, so I stopped.

For episode 12 I did synth an A rank double saber and grinded it to +2, only to realise that since I hadn't really used it's photon art, my B rank saber grinded to +2 with lvl 26 Gravity Dance was far more effective. Not as much PP, but far more damage output.

Fallows, if you're watching, got luck lvl 3 for the fourth time within the space of a month

has yet to yield me anything..... but still.... :P

Do some speed runs of Sleeping Warriors C or anything on A if you're high enough lvl yet and I bet you it'll yield plenty.

That's where I'll be tonight then, once I've finished Episode 12

Apparently the update schedule will be up on the official US site soon.

Just seen some more Rappies and got yet another Rappy Feather. I'm not having a bad night considering I'm playing with 0 luck. I'm fast approaching the 100K mark and I'm nearly lvl 3 ranger so I can switch back to hunter too. I've spent far longer than I wanted to as a ranger but haven't fired a gun once, I don't even have one infact. Just been using it as an excuse to power level my rising strikes.

Sega have decreed that you may now enjoy the game a little bit more.....

              November 17th, new content:

you can now fight the first boss that appeared in solo mode, w000!

Clumsy Orchid seemed to hint that for some reason Sega are having difficulty letting us now whats going on from their own sites (wtf?) so 1up get to update us first.

No mention of Expert classes, so we get to run around with the same B class weaps, YAY!!!!! Lets hope 1up just didn't mention it.

                Bollocks, you're right.

Poor show if that's the case, first JP update got them... Didn't they?

They're promising us new content, new items and weapons to craft. No bloody use if we can't use them.

According to the PSOworld archives Japan got the following just earlier than this time last month:

Couldn't say if they unlocked Moatoob on its own prior to that, but yeah pretty much any new drops are pointless without the Expert Classes.

I'm just glad I didn't power level to hit the cap.

Did you find the difficulty level shoot up at Chapter 11? I died almost instantly so trudged back home to synth some fire weapons and still died over and over again. Got the 'ump with it and player Splinter Cell instead which I'd been saving as a present to myself for completing PSU

Mate, I'm starting to think it really doesn't count for a whole lot except maybe grinding. You've had far more luck than I have in my 70hrs of gaming so far

Can't say I had any problems to honest mate, apart from the end boss which isn't feasible to S rank unless you've grinded for A/S grade weapons and / or are a Ranger. Even the 150 challenge I managed to S rank.

To be honest I find the solo mode quite easy, I always had enough money to buy the best weapons and armor available in the shops. As a hunter you're allowed you use techs on basic force weapons, which is all you'll need really and I hit lvl 10 Hunter at Episode 10. I was level 53 when I finished the game and I had only attempted two Free missions in the whole thing.

Weapons wise I just stuck to Saber and pistol all the way, every now and then I'd switch to a Dagger, Mechgun, Sword or Double saber. But all of my Damage was done with the Saber. Once you get Gravity Strike it's akin to Final Fantasy style limit break especially once it levels above 11.

Compared to the online mode it really is PSU lite .... aside from the PMs which are a pain to lvl up.

                          So. Mr. Riskbreaker sir.

What's your opinion on the new content?

Any new weapons worth using? New planet any good?

Any more powerful B class weapons to keep us going until the expert classes?

                          Comment

Hmm, bums. I'm probably wasting my time with synthing elemental weapons and should just buy the latest things from the shops, especially the time I'm spending trekking back and forth for materials and boards. Think the highest I can get is 6 star weapons at the moment. Had no idea you could use any technics as a hunter though. I'm only lvl 7 hunter yet level 50 in general that must be because of my crapper grades for missions.

I'll have another crack at it tonight.

Haven't really had a chance to play much of it yet, there is an extended path on Parum. You can now progress further than the dragon into a couple of new areas. There's some right little feckers there that use Megid even on the C runs

Moatoob is open, but its pretty bland as it is in the solo mode. Aside from the missions runs there is nothing of interest there. The clothing shops only offer one set of starter clothing

Gonna try some Moatoob runs tomorrow (or today considering the time) and see what kind of drops are kicking about.

I imagine it will keep me amused for a week, then I'll have to find something to do until the next patch comes along, hopefully a week later. That said, the EU players will be on end of next week, maybe earlier if they put the GL up sooner. So I'll likely kick about fair bit just to help them level, might have to raise some money so people can grab tech disks early

Synthing in solo is a complete waste of time Stainboy, trust me. Save your money and just buy the best armor and weaps available at the start of each Episode and you should have no troubles. Grab Gravity Dance and a decent saber if you're a hunter and level it like crazy, it works wonders later in the game.

Well I beat Chapter 11 now, it's dissapointing that my strategy just seemed to be "use the most powerful weapon and bash, bash, bash". Then it stayed easy after that, except I forgot to save before I started fighting on Chapter 12, died stupidly and had to trek across all the planets on wild goose chases again At least you can skip the cut scenes!

Hopefully I can actually afford to play the online game after all this waiting, wish I could fight some monsters in real life that dropped cash

Argh! ft: I'm pissed off again at the end of chapter 12 and this time it seems random and no fault of mine at all.

I can do the first Magashi fight easy, just bash, bash, bash till the screen goes black. Then after he transports you to that circular platform in space, on my first couple of goes I got some good hits in, the 3rd go almost none as he kept that tail floating above us the whole time. Irrelevent to any of that out of nowhere he sends a huge fireball (or maybe it's moatoob?) crashing into us and it's game over. I'm not dead before this happens so I don't understand what's going on
