I had some great racing in R4 cars last night. For some reason I was just totally in the zone, hitting all my braking spots and apexes, was such a great feeling.

Later on, moved to R3 cars and tried the #58 Viper. Boy is that car a handful. After just a few laps though on Road Atlanta, I was hitting low 1:15s, and that was without a decent set-up. If I had that, then it is definitely quicker than the F430GT, even though the F430GT still has the better handling.

shame not more people are racing in the R4, R3 or R2 class cars.
I often check Forza online of there is some racing going on and most of the time people are just racing with the tuned B, A and S class cars, lately it's hard to find a nice group of people racing in the R cars, however if you do find a group of good racers it is THE BEST THING !

Ok, I've done some testing of four of the R3 cars tonight around Mugello for the 50 lap epic. 10 laps each, all assists off, stock setup.

#2 BMW M3-GTR - 1:43.764

#62 Ferrari F430GT - 1:42.946

#35 JGTC Supra - 1:42.754

#58 Viper GTS-R - 1:43.340

All these laps times were good laps, not completely on the limit but not far off. The Supra in particular was amazingly stable, and surprised me by being faster than the F430GT. The BMW though was SO difficult to control at the back, it was tail happy for sure!

Anyway, that's the first batch of 4 cars tested. I'm going to do another 4 cars sometime over the next few days, and then hopefully we can get a proper handicap system going.

I'm thinking one group of people can go either of the top two fastest cars (looks like the Supra and F430GT), the next group can go something like the Viper which is about half a second off the fastest cars, and then the last group (ie TheForce and myself ) can go the beast cars which are a second or so off the pace, e.g. the BMW.

If anyone has any spare time and wants to give any of the above cars a test, please post any feedback or lap times.

I didn't race Nikrox....... but I've played lastnight a few hours online against one of the fastest Forza players, R2P Inertia, we raced the R2 Corvette, man did I get my ass kicked by him ! that guy is FAST.
after a few races he talked be through the set up of the car, even when I had the exact same set up as him he was still 1 or 2 seconds a lap quicker.... He pushed me to use TC and ABS , I tried a few races with TC and yes, I was in the Corvette about half a second to a second a lap quicker with TC on.... still I prefer racing with all driving aids turned off. He is a nice guy to race with, he's just in a different league....
We were racing with a full pak of others, so it was still fun to race.

I think we raced him last time as well in the R3 cars, the differences were a lot less I know, but in the R2 there was no way I could keep up with him....

I checked his stats, online play almost 700hours

I'm testing more cars tonight, will have the full list for the 50 lapper by tomorrow hopefully.

Two more cars tested tonight:

#16 Honda G'ZOX NSX - 1:43.566

#12 JGTC Skyline - 1:43.501

The skyline was definitely more twitchy at the back, and so over a race distance would be slower than the Honda.

Not doing any more now, I think that is enough to get a list going.


What I've done is put the cars into 3 groups, group 1 where the faster cars go, group 2 where the middle group go, and group 3 where the slowest cars go.


Next, I've tried to remember the usual laptime gaps between all of the various people that I have raced with on this forum, and placed them into groups. This will be mildly controversial, and some people will feel they are faster than the group they are in, bear in mind this is just a provisional group and car list.

The final step is to get a list of people interested in this race - I have made it so that there should be an accurate handicap system going, so that the winner will be the one who manages their tyres best and makes the fewest mistakes.

What are people's thoughts, and who is in for this? Best to do it in the evening sometime I'd guess, it would be about an hour and a half timewise.
